Building a new roll
Permalink Posted 1:16 pm in Categories: Poker

So while my Absolute bankroll has dwindle to nearly nothing, I actually have some money on PokerStars again. It started about a week or so back when I entered in one of the PPA Freerolls and lasted long enough to win $2 (easy money). So I take that and sit down at one of the 5 table $1.20 SnG's and a while later I find myself playing at the final table with a huge stack and win it for a cool $14.

Next I tried another 5 table SnG and took 4th for $5 or 5th for $4, but either way not too bad. During this tourney I started playing on the .01/.02NL tables and ran $3 up to $8. Took some of that money and and sat at the .02/.05NL with $6 and ran that up to a little over $20. :)

I have played a few $1 Stud H/L and NL tourneys with not any real success. I also wasted 7.70 on a NL MTT that I'm still not sure how I lost, but grinded more than that back on the .02/.05NL table and now sit comfortably with a $40 br.

I haven't been playing as much as I would like, but it feels good to actually have some success again after having such a long weak run.

The weak of Arras
Permalink Posted 12:41 pm in Categories: Poker

Went out of town last week for work and had a nice little run of mixing in some 50nl tables with my 25nl tables. Was actually doing better on the 50's for some reason. Finished 8th in the most frustrating MTT ever. I played well enough, but my stupid hotel internet connection was so spotty it would go out every 5th hand and sometimes stay out for 4 or more hands. I sure I was pisssing off the neighbors with all my bitching and screaming, but oh well. I was up about $250 for the week.

Played about 1k hands last night and everything went wrong!! Mostly I was getting it in with the best hand, but I also terribly misplayed some hands. Even worse I got tired and wouldn't quit playing and ended up losing a bit over $100 in one night. The last hand I played, I call a 3x raise from a semi-shortstack with AJs. Flop come J35 or something similar and preflop raiser pushed the rest of his stack. I called even though I figured he hit his set (i was tired and frustrated) but I find out he has pocket 99. Turn was a blank and of course the river was his two outer. F-me.

I may try to post more blogs, but I hate telling stories and am even worse at typing them, but I wanted to get that off my chest. Hopefully, I can get my act back together this week and get the roll heading in the right direction.
