Went on my Brother-in-laws to be stag do (bachelor party) on Saturday.
The weekend started Friday night with a home game aroud my house. I finished 2nd in the first game and first in the second. I also nearly cleared a bottle of Southern Comfort. I made two posts on the forum as well. Didn't realise I'd done that until I had a casual look saturday morning. How I got on to the question of Rednecks I don't know!!!
Saturday afternoon we went to Bournmouth-(South coast of England). We had a game of crazy golf and each put £1 in the pot for the winner. I ended up the overall winner and picked up £7!!!! (I think the national press wanted print my photo next to Nadal's and Hamilton's, but I declined!)
We then went to the casino for a meal and entered the £20 ($40) freezeout. 44 entered and I finished 10th for my money back.
I started well but messed up in the middle stages for not attacking enough. It also didn't help that I ended up with the tourny's three big stacks on my table, indeed two of them were sat immediately to my left. I had around 3000 chips and they both had 15000+. I therefore sat back a little too much and gradually got myself into a 'push all-in or fold' position. I also looked around the room and saw three tables left, so assumed there were around 22 players remaining, but it turned out one of the tables was a cash game and we were down to the last 13. We then went into the break.
During the break, I counted the other tables chip stacks and realised that although I was the small stack on my table, there were around 3 smaller stacks on the other. Therefore I decided to shut up shop and hold on.
I folded every hand and finished one above the bubble.
When I play online, when it gets close to the bubble I usually push hard. However I wasn't particualy enjoying it much (I never do like playing live), so as 10th paid £20, I just decided to get my money back and walk away.
I ended up pushing all-in with AQ and losing to Shane, who was one of the stag party group. He had AJ. This was his first game (other than our homegames), he ended up finishing third. He did well all the way through, but paid the price for not playing more aggressive when the final table started to shrink. He admitted afterwards he thought he was way out of his depth and really didnt' have a clue how to play. He ended up picking up £115. Not a bad return for his first attempt.
So that was my weekend. I lost a little gambling on the blackjack and roulette.
My weekend of gambling gave me a profit of £22.50. ($45).
