Oh what a night
Permalink Posted 5:36 pm in Categories: Poker

Two nights ago I won a decent amount in one session (for the stakes I am playing). In my last post I talked about the fact I lost quite a bit, but didn't care because I realised the game carried variance. I was in the right frame of mind and this was just one of those times when that happened.

However tonight I've turned the tables on it's head again and it's nothing to do with variance, it's down to my poker knowledge, skill and ability. Tonight I was on fire!

It all started when i was multi-tabling x4 tables. I noticed on one of the tables I was getting a lot of limpers preflop. I started concentrating a bit more on this table and realised there were some real loose players, so I abandoned the other three tables and concentrated on this one.

I did get a couple of lucky hands (my pocket 8's and pocket Q's both hit trips on the flop and the other players pushed all-in), however the my key income came from identifying a couple of weak players who i consistantly tore apart post flop. They insisted on seeing most flops and I was happy to play along with anything.

Add into the mix a combination of positional pre-flop raises, a few positional preflop re-raises and some genuinly great pot odds (due to the amount of players calling pre-flop raises) and hey presto, I plough through anyone who gets in my way.

I played two hours and made $49.10

16 hours play. 180 seater sng’s = -$26.40, 9,18 & 45 seater sng’s = $0, cash tables = +$101.70

I love when I find players who keep thinking their hand is a winner. I had a similar night this week and I was quick to identify these players by simply calling their bets all the way down.
Raising made them fold and I'd never get more money or see their cards. I like those nights
