Somewhere over the rainbow
Permalink Posted 5:46 pm in Categories: Poker

Last night I lost my complete stack. Tonight I dropped down to the small stakes and still lost my complete stack. The difference was tonight, I had to laugh!

After my big loss last night, I wanted to make sure I wasn’t on tilt. Therefore my game plan tonight was to simply sit back a bit more and play a tighter game. I just wanted to stay out of trouble and come away around evens. It started off laughable and continued that way.

It was early on in the game. I didn’t have any real reads. I’m in the BB with 57 off-suit and hit a straight on the flop (468). I bet, the other guy raises, I re-raise and we both get all our chips in the middle. He was holding 84 off-suit, an 8 arrives on the turn and I need to re-load.

The same guy 20 minutes later and I raise pre-flop with 88, he calls. I hit trips and bet small, he folds.

Another 20 minutes pass, I’m in the BB with 83 off-suit and hit a full house on the flop with 4 limpers. Do I get any action? Of course not. I win a very small pot.

Around 15 minutes after this, I learn that tonight is not going to be my night. Why? I get dealt pocket Aces and raise pre-flop. I then get re-raised, etc etc once again, we both end up with all our chips in the middle pre-flop. He shows pocket Kings and I’m thinking about recouping the money I lost earlier. The community cards produce a straight and we split the pot.

Not quite the way I had the night planned out.

I lost $20.50 total.

23 hours play. 180 seater sng’s = -$26.40, 9,18 & 45 seater sng’s = $0, cash tables = +$65.20
