That will "Ding Dang Do" for me
Permalink Posted 3:25 pm in Categories: Poker

(I applogise in advance, this post is written really quickly,'cause i wanna go to bed-it's only 8.12pm, but I'm shattered)

Maybe the tide has turned. Maybe I'm on the road to success and financial security. Maybe, just maybe, am I heading in the right direction.

Yes, I know there's a long way to go, but for the first time in thirteen weeks I've had more money at the end of the week, than I did at the start.

I've played three sessions this week. The first agve me a $4 profit, the second $5 and the third $10.

Just to remind you all, my targets were 1.quit after increasing my stack. 2.to have 5 winning sessions in a row. 3.to get to $450.

I've obviously only hit two of them, but my whole outlook on poker has changed. I feel refreshed and confindent. I've got so, soooo, lucky on a hand which i played totally wrong, but apart from that I played good, solid value's poker.

So, what are my new targets?
Lets not beat around the bush, I realise I'm still along way from where I want to be, therefore I'm gonna keep my targets small and manageable. They are 1. quit after increasing my stack, 2.to have 5 winning sessions in a row (I need two more), 3. to get to $475. That's $21 away-(my last target was $15).

I want to consider what I'll do if I have a loosing session. Will I get depressed? or even go on tilt? It's something I need to give serious thought to.

Anyway, as promised, Here's my hand of the day.
$0.10-0.20 NLHE cash table-10 seater.
I'm dealt Q9 offsuit on the BB. Everyone folds around to the Button who raises to $0.40. The SB folds, I decide to call.
The flop is QJ9. I bet $1, they raise $3, I re-raise (all-in) for $13. They call.

I know my re-raise was silly. I'm unsure why I did it. He then shows KT and I'm big under dog. The turn is a 9 and I end up winning $34'ish.

I got really luck and know I'm on borrowed time. If I carry on playing like this, I'll blow all my bankroll.

My Bankroll is $454

Keep you posted.

Even though you made a crazy re-raise on the flop, you probably wouldn't have folded his $2 raise, so you defnitely would have hit your boat either way and would have stacked that guy.

But also learn the lesson to not automatically re-raise all-in with 2P on a board like that.

Quitting as soon as you increase your stack is going to severely severely limit your profit. Don't play scurred.
