1/3NL live, OESD vs deep stacks
I was visiting Omaha, NE last night and stopped at the Horseshoe for some cards. Max BI was $200, and over half the table was sitting on $400+ stacks.
About 45 min in, I get involved in the following hand:
I am in BB with 9
T
UTG folds, UTG+1 raises to 15. 5 callers to me. I call.
Flop: J
8
3
SB checks, I check, UTG+1 bets 100. Action folds to Button who calls, SB Calls
Hero?
UTG+1 is pretty tight. I figure him for a set (he has checked behind with TPTK twice on safe boards). Button plays TP like it was the nuts, and has made some very loose calls but gotten very lucky.
Stack sizes at start of hand:
Hero: $190
UTG +1: $500
Button: $500

Obviously we don't know the blind sizes but assuming 1/2 or 2/5, I don't think folding pre is ever right with five callers in front.

I probably donk call here pre-flop every time even though there are not that many gin flops outside of 99X and TTX.

sticking 5 big blinds in the middle with 9-t oop is garbage imho
esp when its almost 10% of my stack
and you mentioned, very few flops i am fist pumping w/ this hand

I called. Turn was 7
Both players went AI. They turned over JJ and 88 for flopped sets.
River was the case 8
