$1000 JUNE 11TH THP FREEROLL
I was lucky to get seated at a table with 6 dead players, but I did take out every live person sent there so it wasn't all luck (except against one of them). It was mostly luck, but I still had to do the work of taking out all the live players.

No apologies at the poker table Matt
We would all love a dead table to build a stack early with, but you still gotta hold onto that stack when you come up against the live ones.
So far you're doing good 50% of chips with 4 left, so make them count

When I said all I meant that other live players would fill in the spots of the others that I took out as the tournament lost tables so I guess it was more like 6 or 7.

For those who were watching, my implosion once we reached 3 handed when I had about 65% of the chips is evidence of my lack of experience. That was the first MTT I have played in over a year except the other freerolls on this site as I spend all of my time at PL Omaha Hi live tables. Occasionally I'll play NL Hold'em STT's, but I hardly play tournaments (or even Hold'em for that matter). Thank you to the site administrators for getting this freeroll, as I wouldn't gain any experience in Tournament Hold'em otherwise. It was enjoyable playing with everyone today.

Make sure you understand I wasn't trying to run you down, Matt. Congratulations on your play and finish, and welcome to the board.
Like Webby said, no apologies, you didn't choose to get put on a short-handed table. A big part of poker is taking advantage of any break you get.
I want to thank Carson, Adam, and Sid for putting this together, too, I always enjoy "seeing" the folks again, and we generally have a nice time (I guess there were problems with somebody last time though?).

It was an excellent tournament. Thanks for all of those who were responsible for setting it up. Unfortunately I got shortstacked at the final table and then had to leave to go to a party, but the power went out just momenets after shutting down my computer so I wouldn't have been able to finish it out anyway. I had AQs UTG, raised it and got called by the small blind. The flop gave me four to the flush with all lower cards and he went all-in for just over the pot size. I put him on a mid pocket pair above the low cards and figured I had the flush for outs plus the A and Q as overcards to catch. Turns out my read was correct, he had TT... I improved with an A on the turn but he caught the straight on the river. A disappointing devastating blow leaving me with just over 2K in chips with the blinds at 300/600, but I can't be too disappointed with how I played. I played aggressively and made it as far as I could before I had to leave. Luckily I managed to squeeze in 8th place...
Anyway, great tournament and a lot of fun. Sorry bukeCASH for catching on you. I figured you had me beat, I had to leave soon anyway so I thought the hell with it if you have me dominated I'd rather give you my chips, plus I was shortstacked myself and needed to make a move soon.

Thanks for the tourney, sid, I enjoyed it although I only came 18th.
Played ok for the first 2 hours before making a dumb bluff against some one playing AA. Mind you I don't think he raised pre flop with it and I didn't even put him on 1 Ace let alone a pair
. He ended up with 4 of the things!
I then called someone's all in with A 8s and lost another stack of chips. Thought he was trying to steal the blinds but he had A 10s, so fair enough...
Finally went all in against scan x with AK. He had QQ and the ladies won him it. Another day I'd have doubled through and might have made the money, but thats poker...
Well done to everyone who played and congrats to the winner....
