I guess these will be on all the sites soon. They look better than the 11.5 to me, I may have to check them out.

actually, i like the new 13g styles better than the 11.5g styles. I'm not on the more weight = higher quality bandwagon, but these new ones do have "edgespot" type molding. I'm a fan of edgespots, so this would definatley make me consider picking up the 13g before i looked at anything else in that price range.

I don't really like the style of these 13g chips, especially the words 'casino' on there. However, according to this website,
http://www.buypokerchips.com/clay-poker-chips-2.htm#13g ,
these are the best of the non-"clay" chips. Does anyone know where you can get a sample of these chips?
The cheapest i've found is $159 for 400, $189 for 500, which is quite a bit more than the 11.5g chips that I like (the style of) more.

Nevada Jacks offers a $20 mixed sample set comprising 2 of these 'Casino' chips, two 'Dice' chips, two of their own Composites, and two of their clay chips. It's a good basis for comparison.

This chip is rather popular after its introduction to the market, and the supply is very low right now.
What do you guys think about a semi-clay chip like this 13g chip? Too heavy?

13g Chips
For what it's worth, I would not refer anyone to purchase these so called "clay" poker chips. The material is inferior, it will scratch and damage very quickly. It has no exterior protection and the clay feel is more like a clay plant pot. 2500 were ordered and nearly 300 arrived is some form of damage.
Several of our customers were very unhappy with the quality of these poker chips.
We are most likely going to remove these chips from our site. I realize we will lose some business, but we care about quality and service and these 13g poker chips are really not very good quality.
I realize many players would like clay or clay like chips, but I don't think these are it. Stick with the 11.5g chips until something better comes along, or your willing to pay for quality, more clay like chips.
Just my opinion.

Here is a picture of 3 13g "clay" chips we received. Note, the damage caused to the chips was production (direct from the factory) and by the chips hitting each other during transit. Also, we accidently scracthed one and then realized we could do it to all of them with the most minimal effort.

Disclaimer: The chips shown in the link above were received in this condition along with approximately 297 other chips, out of a total batch of some 2500. We are not, under any circumstances stating that all 13g chips of this type have similar problems. This was the condition of the chips we received in this batch. We did not order any more after this, however, some of our customers have reported back similar problems with their chips, which were drop shipped for us.
