1st free roll . . . fair showing.
Just played in a freeroll on tournament network . . . 107th out of 550, without rebuying or adding on (too broke for poker at the moment) . . . I'm pretty happy with that. They play was good, the prize was nice ( for those in the money) . . . 600 'promo bucks' plus a pool of $507 pulled from the rebuys. I'm going to see if I can't crack the top 50 in the next one.
The tournament structure was a blast . . . the tourney's I've played in at home games haven't had the table rotation, the rising blinds, etc . . . it was a HOOT. I'm very, very pleased.
If I made a mistake it was that I didn't bet hard enough, period. I've been playing to much limit poker online, and the shift to NL meant even though I won a good number of hands, I wasn't stinging each one enough. I was in a position where I had 1700 or so and everyone at the table except one short-stacked guy had at least 2x that amount, with a 600 BB hitting me next hand . . . I had no real choice but to loosen up and call out an A-7 offsuit . . . and it got me slapped down . . .

Well, I just finished my first freeroll at UB too: I didn't do very well, I never went above 1050 when starting with 1000 TC. I ended up 221st out of 590 or so. I went all in with about 500 TC left when average was 2000, I had top pair.
My hand: K 10
Board: 2 7 K
I bet 100 someone bet back about 400, I called and went all in, he had a KQ, so I lost.
Overall, I was a little dissapointed with my play, but it didn't cost anything, so I guess I'll just keep trying.

Thank you. I just got some fantastic cards, and really poor play let me coast into the top 50. I hope to do well in the TEC freeroll. :D
