2/5 NL Live Top set fairly deep stacked

Postby LeeG » Thu Mar 05, 2009 8:39 pm GMT

Table is pretty loose with 6+ people seeing the flop on most hands. Hero is down about 1K and sitting on about $800 after about an hour of play. So far been stacked with QQ vs KK and JJ vs QQ in back to back hands vs same opponent.

Hero is UTG with K:diamond: K :heart: and raises to $20. Six callers.

Flop 2 :spade: 3 :heart: K :spade:
Blinds check to H who bets $120. Action folds to BB who calls (BB has stacked H twice and is sitting on over $2200).

Turn 6 :club:
BB checks and H bets 300 and is called.

River 8 :heart:
BB Leads out for 300

H?

Don't tell me you're ever thinking of folding here?

Seems like a pretty transparent block to me. I'd raise to at least $1000.

Hero's only got $350ish behind. If it's a blocking bet, it's an awful one.

But he can't fold.

no way you ever even think of folding this... you have 800.. less 20, 120, 300 so 360 left...

you never put in over 60% of your stack in when you think you're going to fold on an irrelevant river especially when there's so many hands you crush...

villian could have any set here...

not to mention this is live play so many people think KQ could be the nuts...

Text results appended to pokerstove.txt

38 games 0.005 secs 7,600 games/sec

Board: Ks 2s 3h 6c 8d
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 57.895% 57.89% 00.00% 22 0.00 { KdKh }
Hand 1: 42.105% 42.11% 00.00% 16 0.00 { AA, QQ, 33-22, AKs, 54s, AKo, 54o }

with the size of the pot and knowing you will get called if you push your ev is $975

I misread stacks and thought hero had the $2200. This makes it an even easier shove IMO. You are losing value if you don't get all-in here.

I just threw this in for fun. When you run bad, you run bad.

I was V and I had 4 :spade: 5 :spade: .

I had been running hot and it was $15 to see the flop with $105 already there. After the flop, it all just basically played itself. I ended up stacking that guy one more time after this before he finally gave it up for the night (last time was AA vs AK all in on an AKx flop)

I would have just raised on the turn if I were you, given effective stacks.
