2 players

Just to be sure ( I haven't seen an actual post on it ) If there are 2 of you left in a tournament, the dealer posts nothing, and the other player posts the big blind, correct?

The dealer posts the small blind and the other player posts the big. There's a thread on this somewhere in this forum but I figured it would be faster to just write it again. :)

So the dealer would be the first to actually make a bet (call, raise, fold)?

In heads up play, the dealer would act first only after the flop, the turn, and river. The non-dealer would act first pre-flop. Dealer post small blind, other posts big blind.

OK now I'm completely confused. I've always played, which hasn't been very long, that the button posts the small blind when heads-up and acts first pre-flop but Sundance's post contraditcs this. I did a search and keep coming across rules that agree with me. One instance is at Paradise Poker's rules on 1 on 1 play it reads In heads-up texas holdem poker rules, the button posts the small blind. Before the flop the button is first to act. Does the way of playing heads-up vary depending on where you're playing or what?

I think I may have even confused myself with my response.
The button-dealer posts the small blind, the other person posts the BB. The Button-dealer acts first pre-flop and then the BB acts first for the remainder of the hand. Sorry for the earlier post, I had it backwards myself. You have it right BallP.

OK good we're all on the same page. I was dreading Thursday when we get together for our weekly game and I having to tell them we've been doing it wrong for six months. Thanks
