2005 WSOP DVDs
Has anyone in the know heard when the 2005 WSOP DVDs will be available? Or whether the satellite tournaments will be included in the DVDs this year?
I'd posted this question right after the TV coverage and someone had indicated July. Hope it is sooner as that was an awsome tournament.

Elevating the Post
Just a quick note to jump this back to the top of the list to see if anyone has an update. We're creeping up on this year's WSOP main event. I'm really looking forward to getting the 2005 DVDs. So, any information updates floating around out there? Checked the ESPN site to no avail.

I can. I thought the 2005 WSOP was piss-poor compared to both 2003 and 2004, both in terms of how it was shot and how it was run.

I agree, there was a lot of all-in situations in the the 2005 episodes. It was real annoying to see that many.
In 2003-2004, there was a lot of good play to watch and was better for real poker players.

I agree too, but I still can't wait for the new DVDs. Despite being worse than 03/04, they will still be nice to watch.

Post Padding
One more artificial post to jump this back to the top and to pad my post count. I can't believe the 2005 DVDs aren't out yet with the current tourny underway?? Anyone seen legit 2005 DVDs for sale yet?

They Couldn't Do that to Us
Well Fishy's post came as a rude shock but the fact that they haven't been released by now sure collaborates his information. I am really, really surprised by this decision. You hope that ESPN knows its sales history on these and can make an informed decision but I just can't believe that there wouldn't be a profitable market for these. The interest in poker has skyrocketed (as evidenced by the number of WSOP entries!!!) and DVDs just aren't that expensive to make (check out the $5 DVD bin at Wal Mart). It seems that a release timed to regenerate interest just as the 2006 events begin to air would serve multiple purposes.
If anyone hears any updated info please be sure to post it.
In the meantime, I have seen 2005 WSOP Main Event DVDs for sale on eBay from British and Canadian sellers. I suspect that they are recorded from the TV broadcasts and probably violate a multitude of copyright laws. However, has anyone in the U.S. actually purchased these and, if so, did they play OK in U.S. DVD machines? Were the commercials edited out?
I'm really sad to hear this news.
