21 outs!
Just lost in my most frustrating tourney yet (SNG). I'm UTG, I have Js/10s and I'm running low on chips. I have about 600 chips left and the BB is already at 400, so I figure now is my best chance. I go all-in. Moron next to me calls with garbage, BB calls as well. He'd been defending the BB no matter what the raise was. Flop is 2h/KS/QS. JACKPOT! Quick math in my head gives me at least 15 outs (4 aces, 4 9's & the 7 remaining spades. I have 21 if a J or 10 falls and he has no K or Q. At this point the 2 callers are still figuring out whether to bet or not. Well, the one guy checks, the other guy goes all-in, the other clown folds. Turn 7D, no help! River 6c no help! I'm pathetically hoping my Q high wins the pot. NOPE! The moron called my all-in with 4s/2s and got a freaking pair of 2s! So, in the end I had 21 outs with 2 cards coming and got burned. Grrr!!!

I cant agrue w/ your play given the position that you are in-but as a general rule in tourneys I never go all in without a made hand. I dont care if I have a better than 50/50 chance or not.
My feeling is that I will have better chances later and I want to live to fight another day. But in every tourney there are places where you need to risk everything to survive-tough result but you made the right play.

i agree with dave here. I would almos never put my entire stack at risk without a made hand. If you watck the sucessful players online.... they do exacctly the same thing. There is this one guy at UB BigDukeSix He never gets involved unless he has a winner. and the guy is always cashing. Watch him play sometime.

BigDuke posts here, haven't seen him post in a while though. He talked about one hand where a guy called with one over and a straight and a flush draw and beat him.

He shoved it All-In pre-flop. Stack size was 600. Blinds 200/400. Only 1.5x the BB left. Not much of a choice at this point. (Though the point is valid about not shoving All-In without a made hand in a tourney had he had more chips. In a ring game, when a 2 to 1 favorite, shove them in.)
BB should defend here. He's got good odds for call of only 200 (half the BB).
Calling with 24s was bad, unless he had a really huge stack. Could just be a moron who plays any two suited cards.
You are almost a 2 to 1 favorite after the flop to win the hand. It's a shame it didn't hit.
