5 hours of poker just to finish 11th! Shmuck

Registered for a £55 live comp at DTD online last night. Got there 5 mins late but started off well picking up some pots.

We start with 4,000 and its 30 min blinds I think,I was up to about 8,200 when the first epic hand occurred, I had A 9 in mp, and limped in for 150, one other late pos limped and 4 of us took the flop.It came A 10 7 , blinds checked and I lead for a meagre amount, 250 or 300 I think, and late position called me. I felt I was in good shape at this point, turn came 9 , now I lead for 550, and he insta shoved on me for 2800 more. I was taken aback by the shove tbh, and started thinking, I thought he would re raise with A10 on the flop, I felt trips same thing, so I narrowed it down to J8 or A with a draw, like A-8 I even said "A8?, I can beat that "....and he looked uncomfortable, I then summised he wouldn't play J-8 so hastily and called him. He turned up A 3 , and said good call, river brought 4 and it cut me down a bit.

I took foot off the gas for a little while before getting A-A on the button, they all folded round to me and I tried my best to look like it was a button steal by making out I just noticed everyone folded, and raised it up to 600, (bb200), the bb called me and it came Q-2-3 rainbow I think. He checked quickly and again I threw out a bet, something like 500 to induce action somehow. He thought then re raised up to 1800 then i shoved and he said im gambling, and called with K J!!! WP Ciso getting action from KJ on a Q23 board!

Later on , I got moved and check raised my 6-7 on a 4-5-9 flop and the guy was pondering I got him talking, and said "what you got over there J9" he said "yeh, I got a 9" and was convinced I got lucky from the sb and folded, showing the 9.

So I felt my game was up to par at this point and had a beer at the break. Later on, I did a few moves, exercised position well and was hovering around the average stack most of the way.

I got it in 10-10 vs a short stack with 2-2 at one point and won and AsJs vs A9 also and held up. With 2 tables left though my stack wasn't great , blinds were big and I was in between 2 big stacks who seemed to be on a heater, so I bided my time a bit.

With 11 left, 5 on my table, BB at 2,000 and ante at 200 I had Ac9c utg and shoved for 15,000. One of few allins I had done at this point for MY stack and was called in 2 spots! QQ and KK. I lost and finished one off the FT and 1 one off the cash.

My timing at DTD has been atrocious and for about 18 tournaments I think I've played my record is poor, I think I've cashed twice only and neither of them were top 3. So I am kinda bummed about it to be honest, but im not willing to play there everyday or anything, once or twice a week is enough.

But eh, thats poker.

Oh yeah there was other hand I really liked how I played, it was early on, I had 2-9 in the bb , a hench guy in the sb who kept chatting about good hands he folded limped in and I checked. It came Q Q 3 (2 diamonds) and he lead out 1/2 pot , I smooth called, and turn was 5c,He checked and I lead for 550 into about 700 and he called me. I was saying to myself he didnt have a Q but more likely a low pair or flush draw, unfortunately the 8d rivered , but then he checked. I dwelled for a bit and almost checked but rationed trips or flush bets that river, so i fired 800 and he thought for ages before folding.Yay for Ciso.
