a bad beat that needs some advice on.
So i have been playing online poker for some time now, but got back into the groove recently and was playing pretty well on a website that i am addicted too. I was up 90million (fake money) and got up to a total of 103mil ( which isnt too bad). then things turned for the worst. greed got to me and over the course of about 6 hours of hard time play, i lost about 90% of it and i am left with 4mil due to bad hands ( 9 and 5 or king 2) or being screwed on the river several times. now i feel bad and depressed about it and was wondering how i can cope with the loss and come back from it and was wondering what i can do to improve play? i think it is just bad luck but is there a way to recover from it?

Welcome to the forum. Where do i start!
Que bankroll management....
This boils down to you not managing your bankroll properly. If you can lose 90% of your bankroll in 6hours you are clearly playing out of your depth. Sure it's great when you are winning, but poker has massive varience and you have to allow for that. In your case, if you are playing fake-cash tables and want to protect your 103mil, i suggest you never play with more than 2.5% of your bankroll. This means never taking more than 3mil (ish) to the table at any one time.
1.CONSISTANTLY play at the same level or stakes until you are CONSISTANTLY winning (I suggest you won't know this until you've played approx 100,000 hands at the same stakes min)
2. Keep researching and asking questions on this forum. There are pages and pages for you to research and if you can't find the answers ask the question.

May be this is your first problem. If you are addicted you are not thinking logically, but instead 'gambling for the fun of it'. Maybe you need to step back, be true to yourself and look at what you are doing and the reasons why.nolimitz4me wrote:.........playing pretty well on a website that i am addicted too.
fake money means absolutley nothing. (although if you are addicted to poker I advise you not to play with real money). Most players who play with fake money do it for one of three reasons. They can't afford real money, they don't know how to play poker, or they don't really care whether they win or lose and therefore play alot looser than the norm. All these things mean players who play with fake money have massive swings in their bankroll as they don't fully understand who to manage their money properly.nolimitz4me wrote:.....I was up 90million (fake money).....

we would all lose loads if we played bad hands! The rule is; mmm, errr don't play bad hands.nolimitz4me wrote:.....and i am left with 4mil due to bad hands ( 9 and 5 or king 2)..............
That's the addiction. Walk away and take up another game.nolimitz4me wrote:....... now i feel bad and depressed about it .....
If you want to be a CONSISTANT winning player you need to do two things.nolimitz4me wrote:.......and was wondering what i can do to improve play? i think it is just bad luck but is there a way to recover from it?

I guess you want as much of his money in as possible. Your odds can't get any better than that.
