Ace/Jack Chips vs AK Hold'em Chips
I thought I would share my recent STEAL from Spinetti's.
I obtained samples of the AK chips and found them to be rather slick, hard to stack or trick with. The A/J chips are not slippery at all and are rather easy to pick up. I also have 10 Chipco chips from a local casino and WOW, they are the best I've held. They almost adhere together, but still seperate with ease. But at a whopping $1.10 per chip (.70 just 3 weeks ago!), I can't afford 500, not to mention 1,300. If you're like me, read on...
With 7 colors for the AK's, I found the yellow chips to be nearly impossible to "read" or see the graphics on. So it essentially looks like a yellow disc in a dimmed light. I did not get yellow in my A/J set knowing the same was probably true about it, but that's speculation. Instead, I was able to get 7 colors/denominations without having to use yellow.
What steal did I get? Well, I'm darned happy with my purchase of 1,300 A/J chips with 2x650 executive aluminum cases, 4 decks of casino cards, 2 dealer buttons and 10 decks of Nevada State Jumbo 1860 playing cards for $176 + $40 S&H! I have plenty of chips for my 15 players and am looking forward to our first use of them on the 19th!!
And they hit a perfect 10 for my non-standard color request.
I even "stole" a used 6'x3' formica 3/4" particle board table with very sturdy legs on it for $40. Spent $15 on 8'x4' 3/4" foam from the Foam Factory, $9 on Red Felt (Yeah, I know, but I play with slobs!), $8 on some 3M "77" Adhesive and $4 on Staples (Err, + $40 as I didn't own a stapler) to try to have some real fun on poker night!!
If all goes well, I'll be looking to duplicate my table efforts, if not better them with my winnings!! (Ahh, the optimist!)
Spinetti's! I recommend them. Search for them on eBay. Better yet, give em a call! Roxanne is a real sweety.
