Acoma Card Room in Butte, Montana
Hi,
My name is Roman and I just started up a poker room at the Acoma Lounge in Butte, Montana. We are more of a white collar place in general, but anyone is welcome to play (21 and over), as long as they aren't complete jerks at the table.
There are two other games in town which focus on no limit and dealers choice, so I decided to focus on limit texas hold'em. Most of our players are people who enjoy playing cards for entertainment, but don't fancy themselves as "card players". This is another reason I decided on focusing on limit hold'em.
If anyone has any advice for a cardroom that has been open for less than a week, it would be much appreciated.
Also, I am against (for now) doing freerolls. What I have noticed at the other games is that it draws a bunch of kids who only want free chips. The ones that don't win chips leave right away and the ones that do win leave as soon as those free chips are gone. It is rare to see these guys rebuy with their own money. If you see a flaw in my logic, let me know why you would recommend freerolls.
Thanks,
Roman
