Actual Rules?

Postby dalass7 » Fri Mar 12, 2010 5:23 pm GMT

I am a little curious on the actual rules as far as: Lets say blinds are 50/100... one person goes all in for 150. Is everyone allowed to only call the 150, or is everyone required to place the minimum bet of 200 to play?

Also, in a showdown where someone bets, and another player calls. Must the person who bets show his cards if the caller shows a better hand first? What are the exact rules on that? Thanks so much for the help:-)

Yes every one can call the 150.

Now I am not sure but I think cause the all in didn't make a full legal raise. Only the BB can raise it from 150. Not sure I never actually understood how that works Someone here can explain that better then me how raising works after an AI less then a legal raise

Yes if you call someones bet and show your cards as you call. The original better can muck his cards but if you ask to see he has to show as you paid to see his cards. Though it is the same in the opposite I now understand. If the caller sees the original betters hand and knows he is beat and mucks he does have to show if requested . I dislike that rule but recently learned that it is the way it works now.

if you haven't acted then you are allowed to do whatever you want..

Player A 10 000
Player B 10 000
Player C 145
Player D 10 000
Player E 10 000

Player A is sb 50
Player B is bb 100
Player C goes AI for 145

everyone can now either fold, calls or raise because no one has acted yet now say this...

Player B is sb 50
Player C is bb 100
Player D calls 100
Player E calls 100
Player A calls 100
Player B completes to 100
Player C goes AI for 145

everyone can now only call because they have acted and had their chance to raise.

the only time no one can act is if the AI is LESS than 1/2 the min raise.. going AI for 150 on a 100bb doesn't close the raising.

and as for showing this has always been the rule...

Player A checks and Player B bets then Player A calls technically both hands are to be shown but the procedure is the agressor (Player B) shows their hand then the caller either opens or mucks. BUT if you really want to see the mucked hand you can because it is a showdown and all cards are live.
