Advice/Comments on Used Car
Peugeot 306 is dieing
Things wrong:
I put up with all this but the rust around the windscreen is causing it to crack, which is just going to keep happening so I’ve decided to finally replace it.
It’s a shame I do love it
incredibly cheap to run and fast too for a diesel.
I’ve got £4K to spend so thinking of:
1.6 – 1.8
Ford Focus ZTec
70K – 90K miles
2001 - 2002
or
1.6 – 1.8T
Skoda Octavia
70K – 90K miles
2001 - 2002
What do people think?
Current feeling is to go with the Focus because there’s so much choose out there. But also have it on good authority that the Skoda is a smart buy.
- Stereo doesn’t work.
- Drivers side window doesn’t work.
- Central locking remote doesn’t work.

The manufactures have been f**king the UK for years on the pretence the extra cost comes from building only “a fewâ€

LOL seeing the word cool in anyway refering to a Skoda is a first for me
In the UK they used to be the car equivalent of the blonde joke. [i]“Why do Skoda’s have heated rear windows? ...To keep your hands warm as you push it homeâ€

Junk? This car and my current ones are the nicest I've been lucky enough to own. Before now I've owned 4 cars that lasted 1 year each, those were junk.
Short of public transport (which isn’t viable with my job) I can’t see any alternatives. If you can think of one let me know because there would be a big market for it.

Skoda is good but boring. Not too much engine under the hood but the Focus is still a nice little driver's car in disguise, w good handling and transmission.

Pinto's were cool. A few friends of mine and myself once took a 76 Pinto and switched the front clip of it with a 79 Mustang2 front clip. After reworking the letters we named the car a poontang...

My first car was a 77 Ford Maverick. After that a 76 Ford Torino, 2 door, hard top with chrome wheels. It was red and white. Looked something like this....
Wheels looked similar to these...
