AK preflop

Postby Nimradel » Sun Apr 13, 2008 2:24 am GMT

Thoughts on this preflop exchange?

Table was loose/passive preflop, without much 3-betting, over the 20-odd hands since I arrived.
UTG had been aggressive on my right, but having been fairly card dead I had not played back before this.
SB had been quiet and passive.

I considered pushing earlier but being so short was trying to provoke some action.

After you decided to reraise, this is pretty standard. I just wouldn't be all that shocked if you're buried. Honestly, after he raises to 300 UTG, if you're going to play the hand at all, I just shove for 1800. Don't get cute with it.

With your stack size just push. The minraise is begging to be called (or raised) and you will miss the flop more often than not. Get your stack in with a little bit of FE or to get it HU against original raiser.
