ALL IN ON TOURNEY - DEALER MUCKS MY HAND HELP!!!!!!!!!

Postby macmanx » Tue Nov 04, 2008 7:08 pm GMT

Hello all

Please help me!!!

I go ALL IN on my hand, one other player in the hand. I announce ALL IN verbally. Then, I move my cards forward (no lines on table) to push all my chips in, dealer then says my hand is mucked and gives all my chips to the other player.

Is this correct play? I was so upset!!!!!!! My cards did not hit the muck pile at all, they were just moved forward. I would appreciate an expert opinion.

Many thanks

is this a trick question?

once you move all-in i don't think it matters what you do with your cards as long as they stay separate from the muck.

I dont see how he can take your chips AND muck your cards. One or the other but not both. Either you fold or push all-in, not both.

I totally admit I could be wrong, but isn't this the point of having a marker or weight on your pocket cards? (which stops the dealer from mucking them)

Yes you usually put something on your cards so the dealer doesn't mistakenly think you are folding, but once you say all in then you must move all in.

If this was at a home game then you may want to advise whoever runs the game to print off a set of rules and distribute them to every player.

If it was at a casino then you should get the dealers name and a witness and go to one of the poker room managers and state your case.

I hope you mucked the dealer's face.

wait, so the dealer's assertion was that you raise-folded?

That's ridiculous. If your hand was mucked, how could you raise all in?
