Am i ever ahead often enough to make this a call
Ive come across this betting pattern and it seems to be 95% of the time a flush draw. Is this just a 10NL thing?
Only really applies to full stacks or at least no one terribly short.
I raise 3x bb OOP preflop. Generally Premium hands and catch a piece of the flop. Such as [ As Qs ]
flop [ Qh 2h 6c ] - i bet pot/called
turn bricks - i bet pot/called
river - (if bricks) i check and call pretty much any bet and laugh as they flip a draw.
However if the river completes the draw, i usually check. Often they lead out and i fold. Is anyone going to be betting this scare card enough for me to call or should i be c/f these rivers

i know in poker "it depends" but this pattern of hand happens so often i feel i can generalize with certain parameters. Villain isn't doing anything totally wild and has a respectable stack.

I think I call here most of the times. If you check the river, villain can bet with anything (especially if he has a read that you are often folding here). If the call is right over 1/3 of the time, you make money in the long run.

IMO you should bet and fold to raise, should make decision easier. Your hand is strong enough to beat some of his calling range, you could get called here by worse hands but should only get raised by stronger.
thanks i like this idea, i dont know why i didnt think of block betting. What would be a good bet size here?

I personally don't like bet/folding line. If my bet is weak, I can get bluffed as well and I don't know, where I stand anyway. If I bet near the pot and get raised, I am very probably beat, but it costs me the same as check/call. And, by check/calling I can catch many bluffs relatively cheaply.
