Analysis of Play Please
Hi, was I destined to lose this or did I f**k up at all?
$3 rebuy, top 30 paid, 350 runners, 47 left. I was in 17th position with 50,000 and only 8k seperating 17th to 9th. I was also 3rd biggest stack at my table.
With the blinds at 1500/3000, I'd won 2 hands running, uncontested, from mid & early position (AJ and AK) when I was dealt JJ UTG. I was wary of raising again but also couldn't risk letting anyone see a cheap flop.
Having won the previous 2 with just min raises to 60000, I decided to raise to 9000, in a bid to demonstrate strength yet could escape should I see a scary flop.
It was folded to the button, a very loose player, with 47000 chips. he flat called and the blinds folded.
Flop came 55K and I bet 20000 into a pot of 22500, again to indicate strength. He reraised and I now felt pot committed. In addition, he had made such calls on pure draws and A high in other hands. However, this time he flipped over K5 for a full house and to add insult to injury, the turn brought a K for an even bigger full house.
And as much as I can curse his luck at turning a marginal hand into a monster, is there any other way I could have played it?
I can't help wonder if the fact I'd raised and won the previous 2 hands had any bearing.
Thx.

I hate jacks. To me, along with pocket 10's are the hardest hand to play well. They are just good enough to get you stacked off in a lot of situations.
When you add in the fact you where up against a player with such a wide range of possible hands its the type of situation that makes me reach for antacids.
I don't really see anything unreasonable in your play considering the opponent. If he'd been playing a tight solid style you should be willing to get away from it when the over card hit.
