The only only hands that really make sense here are wired Kings, rolled up 5's, or trip 6's. It's possible, if this guy is a crappy player, that he made a straight or an open-ended draw on 5th street, but my guess is he has either an overpair or trips to open, which he slow-played, or he caught a third 9 or 6.
Jacks are one of those hands you have to play very carefully, especially if you don't improve and/or run into resistance.

never found out, which makes it more interesting ... i thought about the straight possiblity after the hand but it didn't make much sense since would've had to played (78)5 ... he was making loose 3rd street calls but not that loose
all i knew is that my hand was to weak to call 3 more big bets, and a lot of my cards were dead so i had little chance to improve
ended up +$50 on that session so it all evened out :D
