Anyone hear about NYC clubs being targeted for raids?
There was a story on 1010 this AM about several NY area clubs being targeted... I heard that it was mostly sports betting stuff, but at least one poker club got hit. Anyone have any info?

This is the last I heard about it. I think they were focusing on betting not poker here. Since its Super Bowl time they always look for the illegal betting.

I would avoid the clubs that charge a rake and that serves alcohol without a liquour license. Those will be the poker clubs that will be raided first. Any clubs that advertise private membership and charges a one timer membership fee will be save in New York for the time being I guess. I know the clubs are pretty liberal about advertising nowadays.

I'm not on that scene at all, but I've heard a whole lot of rumors and plenty of second hand accounts of one of the major clubs getting raided, and it was one that did NOT have any sports betting going on.
The club that I heard this happened to was a private club, though they did (apparently) advertise aggressively.
