arguement on the net
I was playing in this pokerroom on the net
I am almost broke on my bankroll so I deceided to play agressive, but with reaon. Reasing the big hands, limping occasionaly and showing the big limpers.
Now, at 1 point, a player kept callin g me a fish and started an arguement. He wasnt fed up with my constant raising the flop style (when I had the hands most of the time)
Another player agreed with him. I mean, common, so poker is just, limping the flop and hope for the best???
I asked him if he liked getting his ass beat by the smal hands who got lucky

IMHO the preflop play is very important. Playing aggressive or passive... its your choice.
I always try to avoid arguments. I recommend you to do the same thing... people like that guy who called you "fish" are fishes themselfs... a pro never respondes to such frustrated players and focuses on the game

I had a guy whining at me over the weekend, calling me all sorts of names in a 7 stud game because I drew to four of a suit from 5th and 4th street on each of the first two hands I played.
He got all bent out of shape because on the first I rivered two pair to overcome the single pair he'd been betting all the way.
I never responded to him, but I considered the tenor of what he was saying (rather than the actual words), since I'm still learning stud. Trying to figure out if he had a point or not.
Anyway, I finally decided he was an idiot. But, that's the only manner I can think of in which somebody else's opinion should influence even a little bit.

I respond all the time. The more info I have on a player the bigger my edge. If they start moaning I ask them the reasons why. I then ask them how they would of played it. I then start asking them questions on other peoples hands, how long they've been playing, where in the world they are etc etc etc.
It doesn't usually take long to realise;
a-they sound like a good poker player so beware
b-they are a donk/playing at 3am in the morning/drunk/on drugs/have more money than sense etc etc etc.

I don't agree with that mate. I find loads of info through player chat.tame_deuces wrote:1. Turn off chat.
2. Profit.
Only last night someone appologised for the time it took them to play a hand, because they were cooking dinner at the time.
That's all the info I needed to know they weren't fully concentrating on the poker.

Player chat on poker sites usually makes my head hurt, so for me it is definitively best to turn it off.

Tell them they are right and your just a fish...then keep taking their damn money. Also add them to a buddy list if your site offers one. This type of player is going to make you money in the long run.
Then also remember this...
Arguing with someone on the internet is like the winning the special olympics...
No matter if you win or lose...
Need I say more?...
