Beginer question? Confusion
Got alittle upset last night with another player because of this.
Here's the scenario, 8 players, 6 fold after the flop, 2 left, at the river 1 of the two bets putting the other all in. The all in calls it and loses but refuses to show cards.
It was my understanding that if you call to the end win or lose you have to show cards. Is this incorrect? I scanned through the rule book and couldn't find my answer.

He is allowed to muck and not show his hand. However, other players may request to see the hand, since it went to "showdown." This is considered poor etiquette, though, especially if it's from a player who wasn't involved in the showdown.
The person who is called has to show first. If the caller can beat him, he shows. If he can't, he can muck, but technically anyone has a "right" to see those cards.
