Best 5 card hand in question AGAIN!!!!

Postby redmkiv » Mon Feb 02, 2004 4:54 pm GMT

I hate asking the same question that has been asked a thousand times, but if I don't play out our scenario and get a direct answer for that. I'm never going to hear the end of it.

final table:
Q Q 10 5 7

Hand1:
Q 8

Hand2:
Q 2

I beleive that hand 1 win since his best five are QQQ 10 8, and hand2's best 5 are QQQ 10 7.
Please end this day long argument between me and many friends...
Thanks
Shane

Yep, hand 1 definately wins, the 8 counts, the 2 doesn't and is replaced by the 7 which is less than 8!

I dont quite understand.

If you already know that the best 5 card hand wins, then why are you even asking this question?

Maybe he needs verification so he can point the thread out to his clueless mates who think it's a split pot :P

There's a good section further explaining kickers here; http://www.texasholdem-poker.com/kickers.php
