Bets per round

Postby Silencer » Fri Mar 26, 2004 12:29 pm GMT

I think I know the game pretty well but this is something I've been curious about lately. I've never really seen it come up in a game so we've never needed to know. How does the max bets per round work? It seems to be 3-4 bets/raises per person per round. Is it as simple as that or is there something more to it? For example...

A bets (1 for A)
B calls
C raises (1 for C)
A re-raises (2 for A)
B re-raises (1 for B)
C Calls
A re-raises (3 for A)
B calls
C re-raises (2 for C)
A re-raises (4 for A)
B re-raises (2 for B)
C re-raises (3 for C)
A calls (out of bets, can only call or fold)
B re-raises (3 for B)
C re-raises (4 for C)
A calls (out of bets, can only call or fold)
B re-raises (4 for B)
C calls (out of bets, can only call or fold)
A calls (out of bets, can only call or fold)

Although that would be very poor betting by the players would that be technically correct? Is that how it works?

if you play limit i think it's 4 bets max, not per person. i don't know about no- or pot-limit though.

depends on where you play. Some places count the blind as a bet, some do not. This would make the standard 4 raises 5 bets preflop and 4 afterward. Most casinos allow unlimited raises heads up. NL usually has unlimited raises.
