BIG 19 COMING SOON!

Postby adam_zzz » Thu May 04, 2006 10:21 am GMT

Hey all you poker ppl out there in Canada.

My 19th birthday is coming up real quick (almost exactly 2monthes! ), and I’m trying to plan something huge to celebrate. I've already planned to see an awesome concert in the Toronto, area that very day (July 5th), but what I want to do most before that is find a Texas Hold'em Tournament somewhere in the Toronto area to play before hand.

I've been playing Hold'em online for a few years now and been successful in winning over $500,000 in play money.

If anyone knows about a Poker Tournament planned for July 5th 2006 anywhere in Toronto, it would be AWESOME to hear about it. I'll be 19 so hopefully it’s all good. I'd prefer a buy in around $150 or less, but I’m willing to risk more since it’s my special day lol.

It would be great to hear from anyone who's willing to help me out; I’m looking for good competition to gain skills to play a lot more real money tournaments in the future.

Thanks so much,

adam_zzz.

Happy Bday man,

Carefull though. Get some experience playing with real money before you blow 150$. 500k play money looks nice, but everyone knows that the skill level of play money is nothing compared to the real deal. Just wouldn't wanna hear that you lost a whole wad of cash on your birthday. Stick around these forums though and you'll probably do nicely when you play. Welcome to the forum. 8)

You’re right LeafsFan, I've got 2 months to practice and learn the skills tho. I'll always consider the lower buy-in if possible, I know to play it safe when I'm blowing hard earned cash on poker.

The concert I'm hoping to get tickets to July 5th is the Angels & Airwaves, Taking Back Sunday, Head Automatica concert. ITs gonna be awesome!!

google The Unit and the Yonge and Sheppard poker club. Both offer tourneys, and I'm not sure whether either will run on the specific day. There is no casino in Toronto, though.

play money players are the easiest to beat . be carefull. MOst player who play with play money are playing with morons. When the real deal hits for real money especially live. IT is a whole new bread. Take easy when you get to the game. I had to take a 6 month break from playing cause of a lot of dirty habits you develop from playing for play money. It is not the same. NOt even close.
