Another day, another dollargoing on almost 2 hours tonight, but doing some laundry and stuff while playing. Won a SNG and busted out in eigth in another. Running incredibly well at 3/6 right this week.
Ever wonder how when you are taking down a ton of pots and showing winners your bluffs work almost every time? Things tend to snowball in both directions. I guess the moral is, dont bluff if you are losing. I thought the streak would be broken tonight, dropped 1/2 my buy in right away, then bounced right back and am up over 25 big bets, plus the SNG money. Check out these stats: Statistics for 193 Hands Street Saw Saw/Total Flop 66 34% Turn 43 22% River 31 16% Showdown 27 14% Street Won Won/Saw Won/Total Pre-flop 6 3% 3% Flop 7 11% 4% Turn 3 7% 2% River 2 6% 1% Showdown 16 59% 8% Crazy huh? 8 handed and winning 18% of total pots? That is with sitting out 30 hands putting away clothes. Flops seen is a bit high, showdowns are a bit low (called down w/ AK twice in 1st 10 hands w/ rags on the board and no reads). But how often can you take down 50% of the flops you see? Don't talk unless you can improve the silence.

RE:Another day, another dollarIt ended, back from a fishing vacation on Sunday and just played 1 SNG, 4th. All in on the bubble w/ K7 from the SB and heads up. I had 2400, he had 2700, blinds 200/400, he called w/ J5 and hit a 5. WTF??????
Then last night, 1 SNG, busted out 5th or 6th, highly unevenful, I dont even remember the hand. Then I dumped nearly $100 at a 3/6 game in 40 minutes. 3 REALLY bad hands, killed my session, A10 suited limped in UTG, raised pot. Flop AQ4 rainbow. SB leads out, BB calls, I just call-feeling they might already have 2 pair-all others fold-looking OK. Rag, SB bets again, we call. River J, BB checks, other bets, I just got sucked out but make a crying call, SB calls. A4 SB, QJ BB makes 2 pair on the river. QJ then calls me a pansy for not raising-saying he would have folded....f* him, I would rather let him hang himself. Next 10 9 suited LP I raise w/ no limpers, button calls, one blind calls. Flop 10 5 4 I bet out, button raises blind folds. What would he call a raise with, not 3 bet, but raise that flop? Set? Wouldnt he slowplay in position? I just call. Turn 9, I bet out, he calls. River 5, I check, he bets and shows A5......DOH! Then I called down a raised pot 4 ways with QJ from the big blind w/ a board of AQx, that was just stupid. When my AA got cracked by 33 and my 66 flopped a set vs AK but he was all on for just $15 with a board of AK6, I knew things were not going to go my way. Too tired, streak broke, lost profits and more (was up fairly big early). Don't talk unless you can improve the silence.
RE:Another day, another dollarBounced back last night, nothing exciting (although raising preflop w/ 27 and betting every street with a board of Q73QK was a nice pot vs A3).
Time to build some profits and get me another check (although the last one has not arrived yet). Don't talk unless you can improve the silence.
RE:Another day, another dollarThe flu passed through our whole family, so play over the last few days was limited and free time was non-existant. I did want to comment on a couple of sessions. 2 nights I was extremely pleased with my control. I got tilted hard on a $300 pot w/ AQ flop of KJ10 at 5/10 and some guy goes runner runner flush with A2 suited. He then says I shouldnt have slowplayed. Bah, I will slowplay multiway pots w/ rainbow flops and the stone cold nuts every time.
The next session was nothing special, but both nights I was down and crept back to even and quit. I often have said that if I could quit when I get un-stuck on my bad nights, I would be a whole lot richer. Last night was a fast one, 2 SNGs, lost a $20 and won a $10. I know I dont make money at these in the long run, but I think I do better at my regular limit game when I have another table going. Anywho, it was a fast night because about 5 minutes in I raised UTG w/ 77. Normally I would just limp, but this table was real tight, so a raise was often taking down the blinds. But this time, I got 5 callers. Flop 753, I bet, am raised, I 3 bet, 4 way pot. Turn 9, I bet, all call. River 8, any 6 and I am toasted, so I check. One bets, all 4 call. Showdown: AJ tried to steal, K8 and 10 10. I really dont know what the K8 and AJ were doing in the hand, but thank you! I quit about 18 hands later with a good profit. Don't talk unless you can improve the silence.
RE:Another day, another dollarQuick session tonight, highly uneventful, long day, tired, just played 45 minutes out of boredome. Lost a $20 SNG, blinded down to short stack, all in w/ A8 suited at 7xBB on the cutoff, called by QQ and out.
Still made a nice profit on the reg limit game. 1st hand AJ flop QJ10, turn 3 river 10, he bet the whole way w/ 88. He raised in the cutoff, so I was going to call down on the flop regardless of turn or river. Later, Q7 spades in the BB flop 865 all spades. I bet out and got 2 callers to the river. Final board 88764 w/ no more spades. Nice pot. I think that out of 30-40 hands max, I played 5-6 and won 4-5 for nice pots. I should have played more with as bad as the table was and the high pot average, but I made my goal and was done w/ the SNG. Lately, I have been hitting and running much more often. I am sure I leave money on the table at times, but the stress is much lower. Heck slow and steady adds up if you can avoid losing 6 days profit in a bad session. Don't talk unless you can improve the silence.
RE:Another day, another dollarNot happy with my play or results last night. Once again, things started out great.....but like the "old Dave", I played too long and too tired and gave it back, and then some. BTW-I watched V for Vendetta before playing, not impressed.
Anyway, started out well and up good amount at limit. Playing a $20SNG not getting any cards and getting late. Big stack raise 2.5xBB which was 15-20% of my stack. I had KJ suited on the button and made a call prepared to fold if I missed everything. SB goes all in, BB folds, I am getting 2:1 to call....hmmmm...feeling he would move all in w/ any pair, I called. He showed KQ....WTF? So I fire up another and bust out late when someone hits a flush draw. Meanwhile, someguy 2 spots to my right were battling a lot. He tweeked me when I had AQ suited in the SB and just called his raise. Flop AJx w/ 2 diamonds. I check, preparing to check raise the turn. He bets, I call. Turn 3rd diamond rag, I bet out (not wanting free diamond draw) and he raises....hmmmm....2 pair? Flush? Set? I call. River 10, check, check, he shows A10. I say "well played", he says "quit whining", I say " raising behind and checking ahead, I love your style, good for the table". Next, we raises my BB and I call w/ 55. Flop 10 high, I check call. Turn K, he bets, I call. River blank, he bets I call. 55 beats 98 offuit. Later, he raises a pot w/ one post, another player coming back posting big and small and I have 75 suited in LP. Seeing a big multiway pot I call. Flop 864 rainbow BINGO!!!!! He bets, I slow play all call. Turn 5, 2nd club, he bets, I raise, still 3 callers. River K, I bet, all call. He shows 10 7.....you got to be kidding me. HUGE pot and I chop w/ a gutshot. After my AK clubs loses to K10 w/ a flop of 752 w/ 2 clubs, Q turn and 10 river (2 outer) and the SNG losses, I am only up a tad. So, minimal gain and tired, I jump on a table triple my usual online stakes and ready to play one orbit, just post blinds and see if I can hit. 1st hand J6 suited, cutoff raises, I call. Flop AA6, turn K river 2, I check call down, he shows 94 or some garbage. Later I get 10s 2 off the button, I raise-heads up w/ button. Flop Q9x w/ 2 hearts, I bet button raises, all fold. Turn X heart, now I know I am beat by either a Q or heart-but I still have the 10 hearts, so I call down. He shows A9 suited....nice call heads up moron, big pot lost, done with that. Final hand at regular game, 108 suited, flop J9x w/ flush draw. Multiway pot, blind bets out, I call and later raise and pot capped. Turn 10 (more outs!), river blank, I lose my str8flush draw to J8. Balls. Even at regular game, small losses at bigger game and 2 SNGs lost. Bad night. I should have quit after 45 minutes again. Don't talk unless you can improve the silence.
RE:Another day, another dollarBetter night, smaller table all had very low ave. pots so I stepped up a level. Wild table, good action, lost a few 3 outers but still did OK. Made up what I lost on the prior night.
I also tried playing a multi. I dont know how you guys do it, I guess you have more time on your hands than I do. It was a 6 handed w/ about 270-290 players. I was in the top 5 for the 1st hour then fell back when my AJ lost to AA w/ an A on the flop. After about 2 hours I realized that I would be on 3 hours sleep if I made the final table, so I pissed away my stack being overly aggressive. After 2 weeks of very good success, I am treading water a bit. I know what I am doing and I need to fix it. It is mostly getting bored online, I always do this to myself. When I really squeeze chips and dont let anything up, I make more. When I try to "play", I tread water until one tilt session and go broke. Don't talk unless you can improve the silence.
RE:Another day, another dollarAnother quick night after fishing the Mississippi right after work. 2nd in a $20SNG, had the dude totally set up. I have a method where I can frequently get the player to do exactly what I want. For example, limp in the SB and fold when they raise 100% of the time. Anyway, I get KK and we are about even, I limp, he moves all in w/ A3 and makes a flush. DOH.
Playing a bigger game again on the other table. I kept getting up, then getting a big drawing hand and missing. If I had hit one out of 5, I would have been able to get to bed with a nice profit-missed all. Then again, I caught a little luck on the other hands. Hit a gutshot heads up blind vs blind J8 vs QQ, limped w/ A9 suited flop AJ9 turn 9 in a raised multiway pot, BB w/ 73 flop 333 (no action, DOH). One hand ticked me off, although I do not think I misplayed it, I do think the other 2 did. They strongly disagreed. I raised UTF w/ JJ, button and BB called. Flop 10 4 3 RAINBOW. I bet, button calls, BB raises, I 3 bet, both call. Turn K (2nd heart) I bet, button calls, BB raises, I fold button calls. River heart, BB bets, button raises, BB calls. BB K10, button AJ hearts. Button, clearly an idiot to call 3 bets postflop. Also, AJ calling 2 cold preflop with no other callers is losing poker. The blind thought that he played it well and defended his action. I think he was an idiot for check raising out of position with top pair and a UTG preflop raiser betting out on the 10 high flop AND someone just hanging around on the button. To me, this is a check and call the whole way. Don't talk unless you can improve the silence.
RE:Another day, another dollarDave, good posts... you might want to write new entries instead of adding comments all the time, because it's easier to see when your blog gets updated.
And yeah, multis... waaaayyy too much time investment if you don't FT the thing. Suit Up!
RE:Another day, another dollarFriday online I had another good night-not great. It was 3 days ago, so the only memorable hand was 66 in the SB, 4 way action. Flop K65 I bet out and we cap 3 ways. Turn J, we cap again 3 ways. River 8, I bet and am called 2 times. KQ vs 53....53????? WTF??? TY for donating!!!!!!!!
Saturday the wife and I went to see Hairball. They are AWESOME, hair band cover group but they have 3 different singers and come out in full costume. Their vocals are very good and they even have the classic moves down of each group. Journey, Queen, ZZ Top, Ozzy, Crue, Def Leppard, Kiss (full makeup!) etc. Great fun for a mid-thirties dude. Last night was rough. Lost 2 SNGs and lost at regular game. Stepped up in stakes (wanted to cash out some last night and would have with winning session) and won it back before table broke. Started another bigger game and went down as I saw K2 83 k3 q4 etc for almost an hour. Finally caught some cards and got back to even, then dumped about another $100 on 2 big drawing hands. I should have quit when I was even! I havent played a live game for awhile because of painful sciatic stuff (big nerve that runs down you leg. Sitting for long periods results in bad charlie horse from butt to knee. I am getting better and the bad beat is up to $60k. Hopefully I can hit it soon! Don't talk unless you can improve the silence.
