Building Momentum

So, everything's moving forward nicely as far as poker. For the first 14 days, I put in over 15,000 hands of poker on the micro limit games, just to get used to the multi-tabling short handed tables. At first, it was a little bit daunting... but with time and practice it does get a little easier each day. I feel at ease with four tables, and still comfortable at six. Eight would be a nice challenge.

After Adam came to town, I took it easy with online poker. I played a few tournaments/satellites with limited success. I'm sure I'll play some more. I think the nice thing was going back to the full ring 1/2NL games. It was soft at the Hooters casino, and I'm still high from folding QQ preflop to aces. First time I ever did it, and my read was dead on. I think confidence really played a key role, especially as the table I was on had dropped to short-handed. I pwned one guy... flopped a set and he found himself all-in, and I grabbed the rest of his stack. I really wanted to play this one kid heads-up... he didn't nibble. Only once before had I played heads up 1/2NL... I'd expect it to only happen at the end of the night. Especially since I know he's some college kid in town to play one event (possibly), I wanted to take it to him. I liked that I wanted to continue playing short-handed, as I felt more at ease with this game. Usually, when tables become short-handed, and players want to get reseated. I really see now the importance of learning and adapting to changing situations in poker. I feel like I'll be ready to take on bigger games once the WSOP circus is out of town.

Happiness is just one roll away.

There are some very juicy cash games going on at the Rio while the "circus" is still in town. Lots of $2/$5 and $5/$10 games with a lot of money on the table if you're interested.
Suit Up!
