Just got back from the casino and thought I'd tell of my weekend while its fresh in the memory.
Last night we went out and got drunk , and decided we'd play the afternoon competition at the casino (£30 F/o) mainly for fun. I staked Jonny, Paul and Guy in , Aelred paid himself. Well , guy and aelred busted out well quick, Aelreds Kings losing to Ah10h on Qh Jh x board? He rivered the Ace. Ah well. Guy's A-10 hit 10-8-7 flop ran into KK which hit K on turn. Jonny survived for few hours before his 5-5 lost to QJ and Paul played like paul and busted out in humerous insane fashion.
I played smallball throughout attacking pots where people didnt seem interested ,check raised all in with 7-8h on KhQh5s flop, and got him to lay K-10(???) , had around 11k (Tc was 5k) when this hand came up, I had 8-8 and limped utg for 600, someone made it 1,800 ( I had the better of him up till now in all the pots), and decided to call.Flop came Q-6-2 (2 clubs i think), I led out 1,800 .....he dwelled and dwelled before moving all in and I called quite fast tbh sensing tentativeness and frustation - he sighed when i called but was in front :( :(....turning over 9-9....NOOOOOO!!!

Okay, So i screwed him, but my read was pretty damn close , I sensed weakness in him , and went with it so If i lost that I wouldnt be too angry.If he had KK or AQ then Id be pissed, but 9-9 , I made a close call there.
Then I build risk free up to around 25k when I get moved. I then reaised AdQd and called a ss all in , his As10s splittin vs my AQ.bah. Then i raise a few in position and keep getting re raised minmum (well ok twice lol), from young internet players. Then I get a hand, 2-7h in sb, 2 limps i call. flop Qh 10h J h. I decide the best way to get value and disguise my hand is to push allin. Yeah - thats right.
Immediate left calls, and another takes a millenia before throwing away 10 J (easy fold here imo), the caller has Ah7s, no improvement and im up to like 30k. I re riase all in from bb when chip leader raises from button with Ahqh, he dumps and shows 5-5 ( phew! lol), Then again he raises and i find AK this time he folds faster mumbling he had another mid pair. I get to the final table with 63,000. Average is 38k , I now start getting hands but lose v early in with someone pushes 50k in with A9 I call with KK and lose. bah. 130k (330k in play ), I win the mtt if i hold there i think. Anyway i push utg blind and annouce, they fold lol. Then I bust a player when i make an obligatory call with J-7 and beat A-4. I am now up to 51k when i just move allin with AK, called by KK for 26k and lose. LOL.
Then I finally bust out pushin utg blind again (bb 8k), called by QQ and KK , I have 4-7 and nearly win on a 7-6-10-5-10 board. Shit payout though in this mtt, like £80 so a loss with my stakings.



Then i get some food with Guy, and we decide to play the £50 pot limit hold em rebuy comp. 39 runners or something, 4k starting stack. Sweet. I get to 11k at break playing optimum imo.

I wont tell all my hands I played well , I will just tell of my last hand. Cos I felt it was amazing. I have 5-5 utg, I flat call for $400 ( my stack is like 12k), immediate left flat calls and a standard mtt player raises 1,500 from sb. I decide to call, and see what happens. I could take it away if i sense weakness or maybe improve? Limper calls too. About 6k in the pot. Flop 7-7-9. Raiser checks, I decide to fire out $2,000. Left thinks for ages and ages and decides to call, riaser folds. At this point I narrow his hands down to 2. 10 J or trips. I was sure it was one or the other. Turn 6, I check to see the size of his bet. ( He bets both the hands I put him on here), He pushes all in . Now I think " hmmmm must be 10 J eh ? " and say " gotta go with it ", call off my last $8k with underpair to board and bb $400. ( he knows im creative so he thinks I could have air here ...which is true). He turns over Jh10h, and quickly says " straigtin and flushing " dissmissin the fact I just made an amazing call for all my chips. River 10d. I wasnt even annoyed at all, the pot was like 26k ,and average for FT is 36k and blinds are 400 lol. I am prolly about 64% fav or something but I left feeling justified. If I can play this well online again soon I will be happy. After tonight, my attention is going to play a big live event again. I really would like my chances - and am so much better then when I did paris 2 years ago. Well, enough tooting my horn, one thing any reader can take from this entry is - follow through with your convictions, even if you're wrong at least you went with your gut.
