Guess I shouldn't take shots...I woke up today and was planning on playin just a few tourneys, Aelred said it was the super tuesday and was encouraging me to play a satelite for it, I didnt like the idea and he replied with "I ll make you laugh, if oyu give me 5% if u you get in" ....I agreed and we were on. I entered the satelite, busted out in 7th, (top 2 get seat) my 9-9 no good vs AQ. I then decided to play some cash games along side the mtt i was in ($50 f/o ) , I made about $150 but couldnt be bothered since i knew the super tuesday $1k buyin was on in an hour. So I quit the cash game and focused on my mtt which I was looking like going deep in. I did indeed go deep, and I decided I would take a big shot and enter the super Tuesday mtt. I read that it makes over $300k each week and I just loved the fact that it was not a big field, since it meant I would need less all ins etc in order to final table or have a shot at winning. I entered and started playing a Tight game, everyone else was too, but I managed to find some good hands and was chipleader after the first hour, with a little help from AA vs KK aip. Meanwhile I busted out in 22nd in my other mtt where 1st pays $10,000. My AK was up against 2 opponents,10s and 9s. Huge pot , but I couldnt hit obviously since it was deep in a mtt. And a $202 pat on the back. f*ck! I returned from the break in the super tuesday, and looked at payouts, top 45 pay, 1st is $79,000!! I clicked it off and decided focusing on my table was paramount, I had notes on the majority of players now and felt I wouldn't put a foot wrong. Cue first lost post- I had maybe $13,000 in the bb, the button riased it up, I found 8-8, he didnt have a big stack, and I thought I had better hand and fold equity so I re popped him all in for $2,600 total. He made the call with A-Q and comfortably beat me. Meh. Still got above average. A while later a 3k stack shoved utg, I had notes that this player was overplaying hands and a weaklnk generally, a 800 stack called too, and I had 9-9 in the bb. I thought I was definitely ahead and called fast. They had AJ and A8. I was in sound shape. Till the river brought a Jack. sigh. Now , I didnt have loads of chips, I had AA another time but no action, then later on , there was a riase and re raise all in, I had AK. And Studied the sitaution, the re raiser's stack wasnt huge, he didnt have to have AA or KK here at all. I made a questionable call ? And called, he turned over A-Q, ($16k pot) Flop Q. I am left very short now, I find AA and double through again vs QJ. Then with 52 left, ( I waited a bit waiting for a hand), I shoved A-10 in mid. I had about 9 bbs, the "weak link" called with 8-8, and beat me . I flopped gutshot and turned flush draw but eh, its a race, I cant really win them. I can only win on stars if i have aces. $1,700 for 45th, and I finish in one of the worst places. 3 hours 40 for nothing. Teaches me for taking a shot I guess. To be honest though, If I won just one of the races or the situation I was 75/25 I would have certainly cashed and maybe had a shot at winning $80k. 2 mtts, 1 cash, 1 bubble. Good thing I made $500 in cash games yesterday otherwise I wouldn't be able to post this, I'd have broken another laptop. :( Lord have mercy on me. Ciso LUCKY BALDO!
