Sunday TournamentsWell, I played the Sunday Warm up and Sunday Million yesterday in hope of making a score. I have never played the warm up, played the million like 5 times and never got any good results, but I hadn't played online properly the 3 days prior to yesterday so I thought I'd play well. Also, I decided to implement a different style for these mtts. I chose to play a very solid game , play my strong hands as well as I could to extract value and be careful with marginal. This style would also allow me to steal later on when the blinds were worth stealing since I would have a tight image. It was going well in the Warm up, 40 left out of the 1400 that started, I mainly had played tight and got action on big hands fortunately. I picked up K-K utg had $400,000 in chips with the blinds like $16k I beleive, I made it $39,500 to go from utg. The bb who had $130k in chips called. The flop fell Ad-Jd-2h....He checked, the pot contained something like $90k, he had like $115k. I thought about what the best move was, and decided to mvoe him all in. My reasoning was, if i check he could push the turn sensing weakness with a lesser hand, or he could catch up. He dwelled and dwelled at which point I felt he had a weak Ace :(. He eventually called and showed A-J. I was surprised how long he took to call tbh, with his stack I like the check/call all in there but he obviously wasn;t sure so my move was still strong. But lookin back I feel I could have played it better post flop, by betting like $40k then if he pushes I can pass cos he HAS to have a hand to c/r when he thinks im committed. True ,I will be getting lucrative odds but I could be fairly sure I was behind. That left me a bit shorter, as we got to the last 27 or so I was below average stack, and the hand I busted out with is here- Button chip leafder with 1.3m calls for $32k, I am in the sb with around $160k in chips with K-9- I moved all in feeling that i had the better hand. HE is chip leader on the button , anything marginally playable he is going to riase, so he must have suited connectors or something. He makes the call getting 2-1 and shows 10-9 and hits the 10. I felt he played this hand appalingly, 2 short stacks in the blinds he should riase or fold, if he is going to call an all in then raising is the better option as he can force us to fold and win pot outright. $1,300 and 25th place. Million GTD, I was more preoccupied with the warm up, played very very tight and busted out with A-A vs 8-8 all in pre flop. It was still fairly early on in the mtt but it woulda put me in reasonable stead to make a run, never mind. "thats poker". As It stands I am like 440th in the poker stars leaderboard, havent played much online tournaments last few days cos I splashed out on a nice tv and xbox 360. I will probably try harder in the mtts I play this week. I ll keep you posted on any news. Ciso fortunato
