Ship Homegame ManiesTake it down Hamcakes. Only 4 of us this time, another $5 rebuy for first hour, but this time we did an add on as well. Noice. Piddled around in the rebuy a bit, nothing much of note for me, my nemesis friend rebought three times again, once after I put a nice suckout on him with middle pair turning trips vs his top pair. He bluffs a lot, whatever, I thought I was ahead. Towards the end of the rebuy period, blinds are like 15/30, I've got about 1000ish, he raises UTG to 80, I call in the BB with QJo and we see a flop of KT8. I donk it for about 100 knowing he'll float most decent hands and raise most bluffs (when you play with someone for 6+ years, you pick up on these things), and he calls. Turn ace, he seems interested, so I bet about 175 half expecting a raise. He complies, and I tank for a bit deciding my action. If he's raising the turn, he's got at least a pair, possibly two pair. Probably raising a set on the flop because he hates getting sucked out on, so I'm pretty sure he likes his hand and will fire the river, so I call planning to check/raise the river. Unfortunately it comes Q, so he's checking behind lots of stuff now or he just caught up with AJ or KJ or some shit, so I groan internally and decide to bet 400 making it look a bit desperate. He thinks for about 10 seconds then shoves, I call and get upset thinking we chopped, and he tables A8. Blam.
First hour over, everyone takes the add on, including me, which draws funny looks from the other three. Eh, it's more chips, I say. Not much happened for a bit, lost AQ after nemesis friend tried to resteal or something I'm not sure exactly what he was doing, but he had K7 and flopped two pair again. I run ungoot vs K high. Finally took his brother out, who is lousy and calls far far too much with all kinds of hands, so valuetowned him a few times then got it in with AK vs JT and held. Three handed I actually lost a bunch of chips just piddling around and not really paying attention. Not many hands of note really. Got my nitty friend to lay down 78 to my push on 568 board when I had 33, which was nice. I figured him for a naked 7, turns out I just got really lucky. Finally he busts kind of lousily, raised it with red jacks, nemesis called with 56h from BB, flop 235 all hearts and nemesis insta-overbet shoves, nit snapcalls, and nemesis turns a 5, fades the river. Oof. Yeah he had some straight and pair outs too, but lose to the 5? Bummer. HU went well, since I won obviously, but mostly because nemesis is very tilt prone and very bluffy, so easy to pick him off doing silly things if you've got any kind of hand. Not a lot of interesting hands actually, one big one which put me in chiplead was AQ from the BB, blinds were 40/80 I think, he made it 120, I made it 350 total, he calls, flop Q high, I bet about half pot, he folds. That's not even interesting, just important chipwise I guess. Really, outside of that and the bust hand, that was about as good as it got. Blinds 50/100, 89o SB, limp, he raises to 250, call, flop QQ7dd, check check. His check a lot of times means a queen, since he's got fancy play syndrome like a f*ck. Example being during rebuy period, limps in with blinds tiny with AA, calls flop, calls turn, minraises river. Duh. In any event, I'm wary of that check. Turn is a T however, and he bets like...175 or something tiny, so natch I call planning on raising most rivers just for kicks, knowing he'll fold everything but a Q pretty much, maybe a T. Calling with A high is not in his repertoire. Well I rivered a 6 anyway, 6d, so I was a wee bit wary of the flush, but really, it's HU, so whatever. He bets about 300, I raise to 800, he snapshoves. I actually took about a minute to think about it and go back through the entire hand in my head, which was nice that I didn't just snapcall because I was all OMGSTRAIGHT. I mean really, it's HU, so I'm sure I have him a vast majority of the time, but taking time for crucial decisions is always a good thing. In the end I said I'm not good enough to fold this and look him up. He tables AT, and I am winnar of all. Yeah...3bet push AT there...not so hot. He likes to bluff me. A lot. And turn his hands into bluffs against me. A lot. It's nice having things to blog about. Neat. UB was down all day yesterday for maintenance. First it said come back at 9..then at 1...then it never came back until I got home later at midnight and tried it for kicks. Huzzah. Little bit of grindage today. I've got deez nuts
