Sit and Then Go Play Poker......against complete MORANS. It's true. While I do think rungood has something to do with it, I'm still crushing these SNGs at a $5/sng clip. When you're playing $10s and $20s, that's pretty solid. I bought 200 searches on sharkscope to get a sense of what I was up against. Out of about 30 players I sharkscoped yesterday, 5 were winning players, three marginally so with 2-3% ROI. The rest were losers. Some of them huge losers. Like -50%+ losers. Well then. No wonder these games are way easy. Everyone sucks. Totally fine with me, but also a minor bummer in that I'm still not as good as I think I am :P. Either way, still enjoying it very much, the only times I get really upset now or when I screw up. Beats don't have much of an effect, though they are coming much less frequently due to being all in a hell of a lot less. That little nugget of info about raise/folding has completely changed the dynamics of the endgame for me. No more silly double ups, no more wild suckouts (going either way), just a steady grind up with the chips, eventually someone picks up a hand and I pick up a hand, generally I've done enough blind stealing and reraising that even if they win, I'm still in solid shape. It's really quite fantastic.
I will say there is definitely a difference between the $10s and the $20s though, as I've begun phasing the $20s in more and more. Lot less chips flying around in the early stages unless you happen to catch a good one with a few nutters. A bunch of times it's been 8 or 9 handed with blinds going to 75/150 or 100/200, so knowing your opponent and ICM stuff plays a much larger role. This is fine, I tend to do well in both, but it does create a bit more up and down tendencies depending on how you're running with the all yins. And I guess I'm running quite sexfully, in spite of the bad beats. Bad beat bad beat! It's going to stink when the eventual runbad kicks in. I was saying in IRC that it'd be awesome if I didn't lose a shitload, if I just won less fast. That would be way nice. Because clearly this 40% ROI is retarded and way inflated, though sharkscope has been a bit skittish recording sngs as I mentioned before, so it may not be exactly spot on. I'd keep track myself but meh. More volume getting put in would be nice, since I'm doing 16-20 a day, but man for turbos these things are long. Like 45 minutes long. Starting the blinds at 5/10 is kind of bogusto, then 10/20 15/30. Stars and Tilt don't start that low, and they skip 15/30 I think. Don't want to overdo things and start playing like a knob though, which I have noticed happening a few times in the wee afternoon sessions. Gotta stay shahp! I've got deez nuts
