Lady luck can be a cruel… cruel… she bitch. Since my last post I went on a horrendous run of defeats. My misfortune included a streak of five loses in a row. Two of these beats were how I ended my day from my last blog entry and three from after. I placed in the money once out of seven straight SnGs. It was a beating reserved only for someone like Trevor Berbick. I got knocked down hard and fast but kept trying to get up, stumbling all along the way. In fact, that run handed me my worst game yet. Like a Mike Tyson first round knock out I was gone in 1 minute and 24 seconds flat of a $22+2. As any self respecting degenerate gambler would do… I raised the stakes I was playing at. I went from the $22+2 nine person turbo SnG to a $33+3. I lost again and humbly decided to down shift back to $22+2. Finally… after six straight SnGs I got to savor what victory was like again. A feeling I thought I might never be able to remember as I placed second in a $22+2. I played one more $22+2 turbo and after losing again decided to shift gears back to the $33+3. That kicked off a nice run of tournaments. Out of the next four SnGs I placed in the money three times. This included finishing first twice, a third place showing and in the fourth tourney I was knocked out on the bubble in 4th. From this point on since I don’t have the hand histories of my first days SnGs I’ll only be using the stats for what I do have tracked. Money wise I earned a net of $78.64 from those untracked games. The raw data: To date I have played 18 SnGs totaling nine hours of play across four days. The average length of time for any given SnG is 30 minutes and 17 seconds. The average length of time for a winning SnG is 40 minutes. I have a total net of $362.44. I’m averaging $40 per hour. I have placed in the money 8 times out of 18 SnGs which equates to 44% of the time. These include three 1st place finishes, four 2nd place finishes and one 3rd place finish. I also have four 4th place finishes (top three pay out in these SnGs). My bankroll is at $412.44 gross. Sorry there is no real meat to this entry. Just money and finishes. I've been playing at random times with random things going on around me. Basically, I haven't done my best and keep track of the really cool or really bad hands. I also plan to do a lot more introspection in the coming week. Stay tuned. |

Keep on truckin' man. I couldn't hold out for the long haul on the SnG's, so hopefully you can prove it to be a money-making enterprise. Good luck. |
