On my game

Permanent Linkby Oasis on Thu Aug 10, 2006 10:33 am GMT

As of late, I have never felt more on my game. I have only been playing tournaments and have not played a cash game in a while. I think it has been a turn for the best because I get very emotional with cash games.

Anyway, I have placed in almost every tournament I have played this week. I wanted to step up to some bigger tournaments but decided to just take a small hop to the $5.50 games from my $3.30 ones instead of racing all the way to bigger stakes; that may just ruin my hard work. God, I really hate turbo's after playing the 5.50 SnG's. The blind structure is much better, I get more time to think, and there is less pressure to be involved in so many hands, and therefore I have to make less crucial decisions that may break me.

Okay, so I played a $5.50 tournament after a long streak of $3.30 placements and was a little scared of losing.

Anyways,

"Dear Oasis88,

You finished the tournament in 1st place.
A $22.50 award has been credited to your Real Money account."

Booyeah!

I'm on such a high right now. My game is great and I feel very solid. Not by any means over confident, but just enough to understand that my game is progressing and I know that this is a good sign.

I know that there are still many leaks in my game, but one thing I have improved on immensely is when to lay down a hand. For example, if I raise for information as I frequently do, and villain re-raises me, then I’m going to fold that mutha faster then hot curry out of your A-hole. Previously, I would made a certain move and then gone back on my word, and it generally lead to tears...

Just a little update, I plan to take a first time visit to the casino this Saturday for some Hold'em. I'm a little up and down about how I feel about this; sometimes I feel sick to the stomach, and then other times I just see dollar signs dancing around in my crazy mind. Either way, it's going to be one hell of a night and regardless of any pre-conceived notions I may have, I think I will enjoy myself. I'll keep you informed with my little adventure in my next entry, no doubt.

One more thing, my Harrington books (Vol I, II and III) are probably somewhere over the Atlantic at the moment. Hopefully they should arrive in the next few days because I’m ready for this man's wise words. I've heard so many great things about this series and can't wait to engross myself in them.

Anyway, I hope that everything is going okay with you my dearly beloved readers (*crickets*). Take care and best wishes.
