If I didn't know better...

...I'd swear I was cold-decked in my home game. There is almost no other reason why I'm unable to consistently beat these guys. Last night, following our fantasy football draft, we struck up the usual $.50/$1 PL Hold'em game. I dropped $130, all in the course of 2 hands.

The first was typical of the hands I've lost in this game recently. The specifics elude me, since I'm far too obsessed with the hand that followed, but it's close enough.

AQo UTG, I raise it up to $3. Folds around to the BB who calls the extra $2. Flop comes AK9 rainbow. BB checks to me, and I bet $5 into the pot. He calls. Turn is a Q. Checked to me again, I bet $10. He calls. River is a T. BB leads into me for his last $7, I call, and he shows KJ. This wouldn't be so abysmal except that villain can't begin to understand why his play was so awful. I take a walk around for a few minutes before I come back to the table.

Now here's the doozy. This hand has officially earned me the moniker of "unluckiest guy in our game."

5-handed, As Ad in the BB. Everyone limps to me. I raise to $6. UTG calls the $5. UTG+1 raises to $12 straight. Folds back to me, and I raise another $31 on top, making it $43 to go. UTG folds, and the reraiser calls.

Flop comes 9d Qs 3s. I bet villain's remaining $55, and he calls. I turn up my AA and he says, "I have queens." Now, I'm thinking I just got outflopped by an underpair yet again, but he turns over Qh Jh for just a single pair. The turn is the 3c, killing his 3 jack outs. I am 95% to win a $200 pot...

...the Qc falls on the river.

I am thoroughly convinced that there will come a day when we sit down to play, and their money will crawl out of their pockets, across the table and into my lap without dealing a card. I can't imagine that I can continue to run this badly in this game for much longer.

Gaming corrupts our disposition and teaches us a habit of hostility against all mankind.

oops i accidentally rated this blog a '2' hehe If i had meant to rate it, which i didn't, i would have rated it higher ;o)

Your home game is rigged i tell thee!

Nah, (altho i would watch the dealing carefully) What you say in the end about their money crawling out of their pockets and sliding across to you, is right enough. Maybe get them to read some books or something to improve their game! QhJh! sheesh!
You don't understand! I'm not an empty seat anymore. I'm different!
