A Bad Beat Really Getting to me ... why?I have never had much of a strong will of being able to forget bad beats / not berate fish at a table. But for some reason I can't shake this most recent one (7CS hand posted in the bad beats section). Basically I made a flush on 5th street as an 86% favorite, then had two opponents make better flushes than me, in the same suit (two spade flushes).
This frustrates me because of the recent luck I've had with 3-flushes. I've become increasingly careful about playing live 3-flushes with good position, multiway pots and I really haven't brought in a big pot with a flush. The win there would've actually given me my biggest win at 2/4 since I started playing at stars. It frustrates me because it would've put me over $600 in my BR which is my current goal, I'd actually be properly bankrolled for 1/2 stud (finally). I can't shake it out of my head, because situations like this don't arrise often and when they have been happening the cards haven't been falling my way, regardless of there only being 0 or 1 dead in my suit with 3 people in the pot. Hopefully I'll win the next one, and finally bring my 2/4 stud hi numbers out of the red. Misc stats: 1/2 Hi: 7,355 hands $555.75 won, 3.78 BB/100 1/2 8/b: 322 hands $167.30 won, 25.98 BB/100 (sustainable of course ...) 2/4 Hi: 3,360 -$109.25, -0.81 BB/100 (big improvement over -2.8/100) 2/4 8/b: 199 -$130.50 BR: $544.13 FPP: 5491 % to iPod: 27.455 2499 FPP to GoldStar ... December or January are my only real chances to get there. Mike Matusow - "They asked me who would you want to be locked on a desert island with?
