Expanding my Horizons

So I think I'm done with the $6.50 turbos ... I don't quite have the concentration skills to 8 table, which is what I would need to do to become profitable there. I'm also not that great at it in general, and my heads-up play stinks to high-heaven (something like 20 1st, 28 2nd, 24 3rd place finishes).

I tried 4 tabling 25NL 6-max with some sucess, even when I wasn't getting uber lucky. I played a lot more carful than I usually do in cash games and thats working out.

I've also been digging my hands deep into Stud 8/b which I'm starting to learn. It's definetly a lot more mind consuming than high, hand reading is a little more difficult I'm finding but I'm sure I'll learn. I managed to lose $130 at 2/4 (idiot for staying that long) and then made it back at 1/2.

Stud Hi 2/4 is still a nightmare for me, before I start playing there again I need to seriously evaluate my hand histories and find leaks and plug em. I'm -2.12 BB/100 over 2900 hands, which is probably due somewhat to variance, but I'm losing a lot of bets on the river and such. Saving a big bet here and there would help a lot, my 3rd and 4th street play is still good.

Of course my cash cow 1/2 Hi rocks. Right now I'm at 4.33 BB/100 over 6750 hands, which is slightly unsustainable, but I think I could manage 3.5 - 4 BB/100.

Working my way towards the 20,000 FPP iPod, right now I'm at about 4750, so I've got 4 - 6 months left to get it, unless I really step up my play and become a GoldStar. However that requires 4000 VPP in a month, or 2667 as a Silverstar. That's running at about 8-9K hands of 1/2. I usually 3 table for ~ 200 hands an hour, which means 40 - 45 hours in a month. I suppose if I spend a few days playing stud I can do it, but really I can't take much more than an hour or two a day and I have to take days off for school, etc.

On another note I quit my job as a delivery guy. Tonight's my last night and with the tips tonight and my last paycheck(s) I should have made about $3000, with an average wage of $12.5 an hour or so.
