Falling from the MountainAfter a great peak of a $1000 bankroll, the next day I swiftly managed to fall to $600 over the last few days from a various combination of bad beats/poor river calls. Stud has been treating me really badly at 1/2 and 2/4. The last SEVEN times I had three of a kind I did not fill up. Once the trips were good, but most I lost to a flush or a "lower" full house. Those combined have been really irritating me, one was rolled Kings that I lost to jacks hitting a full house on 6th, another one or two were hands where I had KK or AA in the hole and hit trips on 4th/5th treat only to see my villain hit flushes on 6th.
I stopped playing 50NL soon after my bankroll was dropping, so I'm playing mostly 25NL and learning that I tend to win small pots (5x - 10xBB), lose medium ones (10x-25xBB) and I'm winning a lot of the bigger ones. The medium pots are either lost when my c-bet is raised/called, or I pay off a river value bet, small pots are ones won by cbets, and most of the big pots have been pretty standard. I've been seeing how betting draws is quite powerful at this level. I am winning more off my draws, and my opponents win less. I win a decent amount of pots with a busted draw river bluff. BR: $701.68, FPP: 11,076 ... still two months or so away from getting that iPod! Mike Matusow - "They asked me who would you want to be locked on a desert island with? RE:Falling from the MountainSteady... weather the storm and maintain your composure and it will all even out. The $3/$6 Stud High-Low tables are incredibly fishy as of late if you have the scratch for that.
I saw. I conquered. I came.
