Just kidding

Well I had a pretty bad morning the other day. I'm not qutting poker ... my old iPod broke so I need to get the FPPs for the new one. But seriously I think I've had it with stud for now, clearly I am doing something wrong since not all my losses are "bad beats." If I play again I'm gonna stick with 1/2, which my bankroll can handle, if I play 2/4 I'm not playing any more than 2 tables.

I played some 25 and 50 NL last night and had a really good "comeback" session and made $60 or so. I stacked one guy but it was well worth it.

50NL
Somewhat new guy limps UTG, I raise 5xBB with KTs in the CO, new guy calls.

Flop is 3 9 J rainbow (pot is 5.50), UTG checks I bet $4 and he calls.

Turn is Q putting two spades on the board and giving me the nuts (pot is 13). I bet $9 and he calls

River is A of hearts, he block bets $10, I push and he calls.

Analysis: Preflop was poor on my part. I hadn't been playing too aggressively recently at that table and felt my image was tightening up (bad). I usually don't make this play with a weak hand like KTo, I prefer suited connector, PP, premium hand.

Flop was an easy cbet, I'm checking behind here even if a king comes on turn/river. Queen is obviously awesome.

Turn I could've pumped the pot up a little more on the turn by betting $11, the difference between $9 and $11 is pretty small.

River: Most people here fall into two categories: 1. players who will only call a minrase 2. players who will call any bet. I thought about only raising to $30, leaving $19 behind, but I decided the pot was big enough so it wasn't a terrible overbet. I figured if he'd call $30, he'd have no trouble clicking the rest of his money away.

Sure enough he had KQo. I love idiots.

The PF raise was good, you really concealed your hand (not that your opponent in this case was paying any attention) - although wtih hands like KT or QT ect, you are often dominated. Luckily hit your straight :) nh
