So long 2006

The year is pretty easy to sum up, since I didn't play all year till August ... quit to spend more time with the girlfriend, etc.

Anyway this year showed me that Stud is my main game and I need to stick with it for the most part, but dabbling in some NL cash games can't hurt. I've been much better with bankroll management throughout the year, and I still haven't gone busto. I haven't had much of a "breakthrough" profit, probably made $800 - $1000 this year, which is fine by me.

Inspired by Skribbles recent cash in a Stud 8/b $22 MTT, I tried one myself and found out how amazingly bad the players really are. I was pretty much card dead starting at the 3rd or 4th level after I moved to a 2nd table. In 30 hands I literally only saw two hands with three to a low. I ended up busting out with 3 tables left, final table getting paid. Clearly that is an attainable goal.

I played an $11 Horse MTT, and realized how bad I suck at Omaha Hi/Lo, my Limit HE play is mediocre at best, and I was pretty good at razz considering I've never played it before. Had two biggish pots early on where the same guy "sucked out" on me. I had a smooth 6 on 5th street and he 4-outed a wheel on 6th. Another hand he was free-rolling for a gutshot straight with a made low vs. my aces and got it obv. I was set for a good shot at the final table as the 5th biggest stack with 2 tables left, then JokerStars sets the tables so the top 5 stacks are all at one table. I basically bled chips in HE and Omaha till I busted in 13th or something.

Oh well, back to the grind.
