Stud Tourney Mania

So I played in two hi/lo tournaments today, one $11 and the other $22. In the $11 I managed to accumulate chips early and slowed down a lot, for the last 4 or 5 levels of the MTT I was on life support or close to it. Because of the blinds, winning a big hand would move me from a shortie, to the top 20, etc. I busted in 11th, after not getting many hands at all in the last two levels. I suppose I was being a bit too aggressive on 3rd street, and not taking a chance by getting some more money on 4th. Oh well.

Just finished the $22. I played six hands. First was an AA5 that held up for a hi only scoop. Then I played a 365263T ... wiffing that river was glorious considering I was capping on 4th and 5th streets. I had a two more where I lost on the river, or split the pot on the river. I had TJQK suited and wiffed on both my draws, even though they were somewhat dead. Once again, big multiway pot. I finished up losing AA5 to some crap and then busted with 257 vs. 959.

It was amazing watching how horrible these players really are, and how they understand absolutely nothing about scooping, that 8 lows loose to 7 lows regardless of the other cards, how they played middle pairs 99 - QQ all the time. I'm pretty upset about the $22, but I guess it could've gone the other way, and I could've scooped all those pots easily.

NL is still going pretty well, had a few too many pots today were I was trying to make moves, getting upset at how others played, etc. I still managed to make some money though with some biggish hands.

Mike Matusow - "They asked me who would you want to be locked on a desert island with? And I said Daniel Negreanu 'cause we'd have a lot of fun"
Antonio Esfandiari - "Wow, do you know how gay that sounds?"
