I had the goodnessOk today I was running sickly good.
I have a hand to discuss as well, which is good. I didn't get as many hands in as I usually do (only 1k, hah!) but because I was on a very big upswing, I decided to just get some dinner and just take this time to chill out a bit. I have been playing a LOT of poker. Right ok, I will give you a brief summary of how it went and then on to some hand analysis. There was only one NL100 table going so I decided to jump on a PL100 table, first hand I pick up TT9x in the post, so I checked. Flop came 68T with about 4 limpers. I had position and a guy leads at the pot, a few callers, so I call, turn is a blank and the guy leads out for the pot again, everyone calls, so I gotta call with top set, even though I am 100% behind here. The river brings my house and I triple up. That was the start of the PLO madness. So I cracked a straight and this guy was on mega tilt, and it seemed like everyone was. The pots were pretty much always getting raised and usually had a lot of callers, so I was getting involved with some hands, then nothing came about till i got QQxx, called a raise, and flopped a set. The guy who raised flopped two pair and I stack him. I was pretty much just waiting for more NL100 tables to open up, but this was a nice little bonus. I had a really good day overall on the cash tables, with my big pairs holding up, guys ovrplaying their QQ v my AA or top pair etc, then this hand came up. Again, I am going to give the results of this hand to fully explain my reasoning. http://www.pokerhand.org/?437998 Fisheyy1: how can u call? I shall tell you. First of all this was a mediocre/solid player so first of all I know he can make moves. The limp reraise by me was to thin the field with position, I was going to just see the flop, but I saw his raise pretty weak. It was obviously for value and I think the limp reraise looked very powerful. So he decides to call, and I miss the flop, standard continuation bet and he decides to call. This is where it gets tricky. If he had QQ, JJ, KK, AA he would have reraised more the first time preflop I feel. So what can he have with a call on that board? The only hand I can put him on that has me beat is QJ, and if he has that then I am f*cked, but with only having $60 left and after I have limp reraised and bet the flop, why not just shove it in there? With the previous action he has got to put me on a very strong hand and I am not going away. I am not sure why I checked the turn here. This is where I misplayed the hand a bit. I wasn't really thinking and thought about giving the hand up at this point. Then the river comes a Q and he goes all in. This was where I came to the conclusion I have him beat. He has to think I am very strong, I.E AA/KK, but he raised it preflop a small amount which was obviously for value. The pot has now got big so what could he be calling me with on the flop? It had to be a suited connector or some sort of Axs hand. The river push after the preflop raise and flop call looked very weird to me. This was my thinking on the river. If he had done this move on the turn then I am likely to fold, same goes for the flop. I just moved through this hand using logic and my read on the player. There was a chance he had QJs, but for me he was representing a Q after he missed his flush draw and I thought it was unlikely he had one in his hand, unless he had QJs. I don't think he would push with a PP after my limp reraise preflop. So, that's about it I think, that sort of topped it off and I am glad that I am not just getting paid off with hands v 2nd best hands and that I can make a big read with a marginal hand. So, what do you think of my play? Does it make sense? xx 1 Comment Viewed 2 times

RE:I had the goodnessI'm hardly in a posistion to give you advice, but I like how you explain your thoughts behind each move. Gives me a lot more to think about when I play.
Cheers for that.
