Ok, I love the upswings!! and a few hands I picked out

So, I am going to do considerably less rambling from my last post.

Points to note:

I am loving Crypto. I have played 2.6k hands over there in the two days I have been there. I am playing NL$50 and NL£25 but will be moving up to NL$100 and NL£50 after a great two days. The bonus seems a bit difficult to clear, but it doesn't really matter.

Not sure how much rakeback I have made, but overall I like this site a lot, it seems a lot less resource intensive than it used to be and rakeback is g00t.

I played a few tournaments today, so here's the results.

First tournament: $5 thingy on crypto and I bubbled with AK v some random hand.

Second Tournament: Platinum freeroll $7,500 on Pokerstars. This was going ok till someone raised, I pushed with AK and was insta called by T8s. He flopped an 8 and I am out.

Third Tournament: £10k GTD on crypto. I was crippled when my AA was beat by AK (Trip kings) and I ended up going out with a race. (I satted into this)

Fourth Tournament: $150k Platinum freeroll on Stars. I finished 53rd out of 2.5k. That was alright, I went out to AK v KJ when i had one big blind left.

Right, onto cash.

So I have two hands of note I am going to go into. Overall, I had a great day.

This is the first hand I am going to discuss and perhaps my poor fold on the flop.

As it stood, AnGof hadn't got out of line. His stats at the time over about 100 hands were 10%, he was a rock.

Nailerz was too short to concern me.

Preflop I decided I would mix it up and call here and check raise the flop, as I did. The problem of course was his reraise. Now, I thought the likely hands with this could have been TT or AA. I didn't think he was the type to get very aggro with JJ or QQ.

because his PFR (Pre flop raise %) was low and his AF (Post flop Aggression) was quite low too, so I thought he could only reraise me after a check raise with a set or AA. What do you think about this?

I have posted the results as well, I hope we don't all get results orientated here, but I thought with QQ he would just call the raise or lay down, especially as he gets some security with the third player all in.

Thoughts?

Second hand:

Now the second hand is about extracting money rather than making the right laydown.

Both players in the hand were loose passive.

I figured for Andrew7 to make an overbet on the flop that he has a big hand and he won't get away from it, either a big ace or a set.

I don't figure him for A8 and A4, because even though he is a fish, I can't see him limping with those UTG, he isn't super bad.

The other guy I was not so sure on at this point.

I slowplay the non threatening flop, which is standard. Now on to the turn.

What did you think of a check here? I am checking because I am looking for andrew7 to bet and then I will check raise. I don't want anyone runner runnering me with a backdoor flush, even though the chances of them having such a hand after the overbet and the call on the flop are slim.

So it's checked round and the river brings another Ace.

What do you think of the river check here? Yes, This does look a bit iffy. I mean, it could be checked around again and I can make nothing, but I want to give someone a chance to bet here, because of the lack of betting on the turn. If one of these did have top pair they have now improved to trips and I have shown weakness all the way through the hand. I am pretty sure this is an action card and I don't want to scare any lesser hand or small ace in thinking I have trips.

So the rest is pretty standard, of course after an overbet and a call I am going to go all in, and I stack two players.

What did you think of the player. Did I get lucky that they both had two good hands, or did I make the correct play?

My personal opinion on these hands is that hand 1 it was marginal, but went with my read and got it wrong, and hand 2 I played well. What do you think?

Other hands to note today. On a 4 flush board I had straight flush v straight flush (me with higher T high, v 9 high). Shame it was only with one card though, I had him te whole way as well.

And the other, KK v KK v 77. I have KdKx, call, call, I am bb, raise, both call.

flop comes T7*, sb checks, I bet, 77 raises all in, KK insta calls, I think about it and decide to call because the players werent that deep. So we have a three way all in and I runner runner for the K high flush. Oops.

Right, I think that's about it!

Bye bye,

xxx

I probably lead the flop with 88 here, figuring the only way I win money is if someone flopped at least a pair of aces. I think you get a lot of money in fast. But considering another player had a lower set, all the money was going in any way.
Universally speaking,
I, win in the long run.

I agree with your hand 1 laydown. Do you use pokeroffice? With the stats he had, you have to laydown. Fortunately the short stack allowed you to see that he was capable of getting aggressive with QQ. Good example of him taking advantage of his image.

hand 2 I make at least a small bet on the flop.
