My fear of being internet-less is over after about 2 days :D My mom(s) have moved successfully into the new house, it's a big upgrade for them, and we just brought my 2 cats over from the old house, so the move is done! I gotta stay here until the end of the week, then I can go back home, but Rogers set up our internet really quickly so I'm happily up and running. NOt playing poker, however, I'm still using a crappy macbook.

I took my laptop to a computer shop and this time it actually powered up and someone did some tests and apparently my hard-drive was in worse shape than any hard-drive the guy had ever seen. Needless to say absolutely everything is unrecoverable - but the good news is that all I need to do is buy myself a new hard drive and I'll be set. For this laptop I don't need more than a 20GB system, so the repair will be less than $50, so I'm pumped. I just need to find a good place to pick up a hard-drive, I'm leaning towards factory direct.ca In fact, I'm going to do that now.
