I didn't need to waste the chips to see his cards by calling on the river. I could have raised on the flop to figure out where I stood immediately, but I decided to keep the pot small by just calling. I would have folded if he bet on the turn, I probably should have just tried to check the hand down instead of bet out... this was definitely a spew.

This hand is standard, but somewhat interesting. If you didn't notice, I check-raised on the flop, and I check-raised the turn. This worked because I had an aggressive image and my opponents were used to seeing me check-raise. It's nice to get paid when you hit a set.

I should have made a bigger check-raise on the flop. I don't mind how I played the turn, but I don't know about the river. I was getting 3:1 and I thought there was a chance my opponent was bluffing....

This is a perfect example of when you should 3-bet light. EP made a small raise of 3xbb and I did have an Ace on the button so obviously I can't fold. I also can't just call becauze this is 6-max, so a raise here is pretty standard IMO. My check on the flop was to help keep the pot small - clearly I don't want to be playing for stacks with A8o. On the turn once he checked again it was time to bet, just incase he had a random gutshot or 2nd pair and to keep him from drawing for free. I checked on the river b/c no hand calls that doesn't have me crushed.

I played one SNG today and this was it. I played this hand pretty well, pretty sure I got full value. Again, I had an aggressive image so that helped me get paid on the river. I busted 2nd through no fault of my own, there was nothing I could have done to win this tournament.
